Waiting on Dad

We went for a bike ride on Saturday.  It was a lot of fun.  The part that wasn't fun was before we left.  Mom got us harnessed up and then Dad spent an insane amount of time looking for his hat.  Come on, Dad, grow some fur!  He has fur on his head, but he doesn't have furry ears, so that's why he said he needed a hat.  Huskies are so much smarter than humans because we grow furry ears to keep us from spending time looking for hats instead of having fun.

Here's Steve waiting.
Here's me.
Here's both Steve and me.
Here's Wilbur.  Even he was bored.  (Wilbur did not get to go for the bike ride.)

Dad did finally find his hat... the next day.  It was in the laundry basket and Mom washed it.

Happy 3rd Wilbur!

Today is Wilbur's 3rd birthday.  Well, it's his gotcha day and Mom calls it his birthday.  She thinks its funny that his birthday is April Fools Day.  Anyway, we got Wilbur a fancy can of cat food so he can feast tonight.

Happy Birthday Wilbur!  You've survived the Ornery Ones, the Terrible Twos, and now you're embarking on the Treacherous Threes.  We hope Mom survives.  :-)

Steve and Kat

Our New House

We bought ourselves a house.  It's going to be the world's coolest Siberian Club House (thanks to our SMS pals for that name).  Here's what it looks like now:

We're going to have Mom repaint it.  She suggested red with black trim.  Dad is also going to take the swing and slide down so we don't get hurt.  Whatever.  We're going to hang cool signs on it like "Sibes Rule and Cats Drool" and "No Cats Allowed".  Wilbur is really jealous.

Some of our friends have been helping us think of new furnishings.  We have the following suggestions: a phone so Steve can order pizza, a couch for me to sleep on, a TV with cable so we can watch Animal Planet, and Holly said that she would need a mattress to sleep on when she comes over.

Oh, and our parents (and Wilbur) are getting to move into the house in front of our new house, but I'm sure you don't care a thing about it.  We'll probably have a housewarming paw-ty as soon as we get everything fixed up, so you all are invited!

Wooscotti

Mom found a recipe for biscotti for dogs so she made it this morning.  She tweaked the recipe just a bit so that we could give it our own name, so we decided to call it Wooscotti.  What do you pups think?  Is that a good name?

We love it when Mom makes us things.  We are always ready to be team players and taste test.  She gave us some peanut butter (just a tad) while she was mixing up the Wooscotti.  Then when she was cutting it into slices, it made a lot of crumbs, so she let us eat those too.

Here we are waiting for Mom to put the Carob icing on the Wooscotti.
Hurry up, Mom!  Here's Kat looking longingly at the Wooscotti after it was finished, but still too hot to eat.
Later on, Kat and I got in a big fight because I tried to steal a piece of Wooscotti off the cooling rack.  Mom got really upset at us for fighting.  I hope that doesn't keep her from making it again!

Woo, Thunder is Handsome

On Monday night, Steve had Mom light a candle and then, by candlelight, Steve asked me if I would be Thunder's girlfriend.  Of course I said YES!  I mean, look at him.  He's so cute.  He has pretty blue eyes like me and his mom has the same name as me, so it's almost as if we are meant for each other.  Thunder is almost two, I think, so we are also the perfect age for each other.  I just wish we had been together back in May when we visited some of our human relatives in Kansas City because Thunder lives close to there and we could have met.  I bet we would have had a ton of fun playing chase and wrestling.

Thanks for asking me (through Steve) to be your girlfriend, Thunder!
Love,
Kat

Cool Dog Sled Envelope

We've been really forgetful about posting about this cool thing that Franki V sent us.

One day we got an envelope in the mail.  It looked like this, but had our address on it and the return address was in Vancouver.
We used our Siberian intelligence to deduce that it must be from Franki because we don't know anypup else in Vancouver.  We thought it was a super cool envelope.  It traveled by dogsled to get to our house!

Franki sent it to us as part of the Gold Rush Trail Dog Sled Mail Run.  Dog teams work together to carry the mail from Quesnel, British Columbia all the way to Barkerville, BC.  The envelope was also postmarked from stops along the way.  Mom thought it was especially cool that it went to Barkerville and anyone who knows her will understand why.

So thanks again, Franki!  We are keeping the envelope in a very special place!

Steve and Kat

PS. Franki emailed us some cool pictures of our mail enroute.  Check out a few of them:

News Flash! Evil Husky Revealed!

Hi, Wilbur here. During the day, when Mom and Dad are working and the furry beasts are in the crate, I like to relax, let down my fur, and surf the internet. Sometimes I hack into Mom's email to make sure she's not saying bad stuff about me.

Imagine my surprise, when yesterday I discovered this email:

Hello ,

Thank you for your order.

Order Receipt:

Date: Mon Mar 03 11:24:12 -0500 2008
Order Status: Accepted

Dyson DC15 Ball w/Animal Plus Kit 15

Factory Direct Int. Inc.
www.FactoryDirectSuperstore.com

What? A Dyson? I have read enough dog and cat blogs to know that I DO NOT want a Dyson living here. Even furry beasts hate Dysons. So imagine how even more surprised I was to find another email sent this weekend from one furry beast, Khyra. (Names not changed to protect the guilty.) In Khyra's email, she specifically directed my mom to the website where she ordered the Dyson.

How can Khyra claim to be so nice and love the furry beasts when she schemed to bring a Dyson into our home? She's supposed to be the boy furry beast's girlfriend! Although, our first clue should have been the fact that she has other boyfriends besides him.

Beware furry beasts! Khyra is nothing but trouble!

Meow,
Wilbur

I'm not a chicken!

Mom is making me really mad.  She apparently is under the false impression that I am a chicken and not a Siberian Husky.  I guess she wants to eat me or something because she keeps trying to pluck my fur on my butt.  Isn't that the first stage to cooking a chicken?  Listen, MOM, I can't help it if I'm shedding a lot on my butt and the fur comes out in tufts.  That is no excuse for you to touch me there and pluck my fur.  It's MY fur (and MY butt)!  STOP IT!

I hope Mom reads this post,

Stupid Steve

I'm really upset that Steve posted that picture of me where he said I looked retarded.  In retaliation, I'm posting this picture of him.

Also, Mom is trying to blame me for knocking a bunch of stuff off the table.  I think this picture shows that I obviously didn't do it and Wilbur did.
Zim, I may need you to come to my rescue.  You did a good job getting yourself out of trouble.

How To Go To the Dog Park, Part 5

Part 5: Let's Play!

Here are some pictures of us at the dog park.  First up, an embarrassing picture of Kat.  Doesn't she look retarded?
Next is a picture of Kat's dirty face.  She was standing in a puddle and Dad thought she was going to lay down in the mud and roll around.  So Dad yelled, "Kat!  Don't do it!"  So she didn't roll around, she just dunked her face.
Finally, here is a picture of both of us.  Mom and Dad have been taking treats to the dog park and when they call our names, we come running and we get a treat.  We have to sit first though.
Amici asked in our last post "How BIG is that dog park?  It looks HUGE!"  Well, our dog park is about 10 acres.  It's got a giant area (that's what you saw in the video last time).  Then it has some fenced trails that go all the way to Lake Washington.  It's a really cool dog park.

Next time is our last post in this series... going home.

How To Go To the Dog Park, Part 4

Finally we arrive at the part of our series where we arrive at the dog park! When we get close to the dog park, I get all excited about it. I know we are almost there as soon as we get off the highway and we still have a few miles to go!  Mom tried to video my excitement but the video didn't turn out.  Anyway, she did manage to get a video of us out of the car and walking very politely into the dog park gate.  We are really good not to pull on our leashes, as you can see.  That's an important thing.  Be sure to behave on your leashes otherwise your parents won't know you are excited.

Tomorrow I will post some pictures of us at the dog park that day.

How To Go To the Dog Park, Part 3

We now return to our multipart series...

Part 3: The Car Ride

An important part of going to the dog park is riding in the car.  Here's Kat and me in the car as Dad is preparing to back out of the garage.  I was sending him Siberian Mind Melds to pick the fastest route to the park.
Because time at the dog park is always very labor intensive, I like to take the car ride portion of the journey to catch some ZZZzzzz's so I can play to the fullest once I get there.
Kat, on the other paw, is a big backseat driver, so she has to watch Dad's every turn.

Well pups, we are almost to the dog park.  I hope you're all ready!

How To Go To the Dog Park, Part 2

Finally we are going to get back to our multi-part series about going to the dog park.  Sorry we got so derailed by getting sick and then playing in the snow, but we are back on track now.

Anyway, after you have your parents convinced that you do indeed want to go to the dog park, it's time to get them to the car.  Humans have to go through an extensive process of putting on coats and shoes and gloves and hat and whatever else they need because they weren't blessed with lovely fur.  Once they put on their fur (I mean clothes), you need to lead them to the car.  Now, humans are very forgetful, so make sure they remember everything that's important.  As you can see in this video, our mom almost forgot a critical item!

Next we will discuss the car ride.

Snowshoeing

Today we went snowshoeing with Mom and Dad.  Being huskies, we didn't need any stinkin' snowshoes, but Mom and Dad sure did.

We drove up to the Mt. Baker/Snoqualmie National Forest to snowshoe.  There is a road there that makes a loop, but the highway department doesn't plow part of the road in the winter and it makes  good snowshoe or cross-country ski trail.  On our way, Dad stopped at the ranger station just to make sure there wasn't avalanche danger where we were going and we got the A-OK!  Here's a picture of us with Mom before we got started.
We were pretty excited to be out in all that snow.  Here's a video of us messing around while waiting for Dad to get all the stuff out of the car.

Then we started down the trail.  We wanted to pull, pull, PULL, but Mom and Dad's snowshoes really dug into the snow and we couldn't pull them down the trail.  Bummer.

The snow is really deep over the uncleared road.  Here we are with Dad in front of a sign and you can see only the top of the sign!
We hiked for two miles, then Mom and Dad stopped for lunch.  We stopped at a picnic area, but all the picnic stuff was covered in snow, so Mom and Dad just sat on the ground.  Steve and I put on our 60-foot leashes so we could really roam around.  However, we are so used to sticking with Mom and Dad, it wasn't until Mom started throwing snowballs that we realized we could actually venture out.

Since we stopped at the picnic area, there weren't a lot of trees close by, but I did manage to get my leash wrapped around a tree and Dad had to come rescue me.  Mom didn't get the daring rescue on video though.  You can see in this video that I was very grateful to Dad for being my hero!

Mom and Dad had fun snowshoeing and they said we can go again soon.  Right now we don't have a lot of places to go because of the avalanche danger, but as soon as that goes away, we might try some different trails.

Big Day Tomorrow

We had to spend part of the day in our crate today.  ON A SATURDAY!  I know, it sound like abuse.  However, we were okay with it.  Mom and Dad had to go get some things for our big day tomorrow.  We're going to play in the snow!  It's going to be awesome and we are so excited.  Watch for our recap!

Here's our picture in our crate today.  I didn't look at the camera. I was busy eating my kong.

Awards and Random Facts

Marley and Ziggy AND Star and Jack gave us an award.  It's the "E" for Excellent award and we are very thankful that they gave it to us!  We love being called excellent.  Thanks pups!  We would like to give this award to some pretty new bloggers, The Forget Sit & Stay Gang!

Second, Ari tagged us to name seven random things about ourselves.  The facts were supposed to be unknown.  That made it pretty difficult for us since we write about pretty much everything on our blog, but we thought hard and we think we came up with some good ones.
1. Steve still has pink puppy pads on his feet.
2. Kat's claws are black.  Steve's claws are white/clear.  Wilbur's claws are razor sharp.
3. Wilbur only weighed one pound when Mom rescued him from the pound.
4. Mom thought about naming Kat "Sophie".
5. Wilbur's body is so long, he can't curl into a donut, only like a "u".
6. There is a dog two town homes down from us that is named Brandy and we go nuts everytime we see her and Mom and Dad can't figure out why.
7. We follow Mom everywhere she goes in the house, but don't usually follow Dad unless he goes into the kitchen.

Those are the facts!

We're back....

Woo, hoo, hoo pups!  We are back!  Mom went to the vet yesterday on her way home.  She wanted to visit us, but the vet met with her and said that she could just take us home!  We were so happy.  Mom didn't tell Dad that she brought us home either, so we surprised him when he got home from work.

We sure think he was thrilled to see us, even though he seemed pretty distracted by our smelly breath.  We can't help it.  We have to eat this special food for a few days and it makes us stinky from both ends, if you catch our drift.  Mom says it has a lot of fiber, whatever that is.

We have been so hungry, but Mom won't dish out the treats or food!  Steve just stood staring at his bowl and nothing happened.
Mom gives us some food, but it's just not enough, but she says we can have more food each day, but no treats for a few days.  NO TREATS?  That's doggie abuse if you ask us.

We have been very tired since we got home, so we are going to go back to napping.  Thank you for all your well wishes.  They really worked because we got to come home a day early!  You pups are the best!

We interrupt this program...

Meow, Wilbur here.  Steve and Kat are going to have to take a break from their dog park series because they are in jail at the vet.  And as much as some pups like to say, I had nothing to do with it.

On Sunday morning, Steve and Kat stole some banana nut bread off the counter.  (No, I did not push it to the edge for them to get it.)  Then Sunday night, Kat didn't want to eat her supper.  Steve gobbled his up, but later threw it all up on the floor.  It was disgusting, let me tell you.  Kat was also acting very pathetic and curling into balls on Mom's lap whenever she could.

Then all night Sunday night/Monday morning, Steve and Kat wanted to go outside, but when they got outside, they would try to do some business but nothing really came out, if you know what I mean.  Steve did have a couple accidents in the bathroom.  He's one smart pup, I will admit, for not going on the carpet.
Finally the last straw was in the morning when Mom was getting ready for work.  Steve jumped off the bed and with no warning, had a gross accident in the bathroom that was kind of bloody.

Mom thought he might have giarrdia, so she loaded both furry beasts into the car to drop them off at the vet on her way to work.  Later in the morning the vet called to tell Mom that they both had fevers and to ask Mom some more questions about how the furry beasts were acting at home.  Mom answered the vet's questions and the vet said she wanted to run a blood test for pancreatitis.  Mom said sure.  An hour or two later, the vet called back to say they both had pancreatitis.  The treatment for that is 48 hours of no food or water.  To prevent the furry beasts from drying up, they have to stay at the vet on IV feeding and fluids.

Mom and Dad went to visit them last night.  The furry beasts got all hyper when they initially saw Mom and Dad, but then got tired pretty quickly.  Mom took them some toys from home.  Dad wanted to take me for them, but I put my paw down.  The vet told Mom and Dad that Steve and Kat should be able to go home Wednesday evening.

I'll claw out an update when I have one.
Wilbur
Mom, why do I have to stay here?
Oh, Mom, stop hugging.  It's embarrassing.
I can still be Superman while I'm sick.
Thank you for bringing me toys.  They are MINE!
Okay, Dad.  Let's have a talk.  You're going to take me home with you, got it?

How to Go to the Dog Park, Part 1

We went to the dog park yesterday.  We are aware that several of our friends never get to go to dog parks, so we thought we'd do a multiple part series on how to get your parents to take you to the dog park.  Here's how it goes at our house.

Mom goes outside and sees that it's a sunny day.  She comes inside and says to Dad, "It's really nice outside.  I think we should take Steve and Kat to the D.P."  Mom thinks that we don't know that "D.P." stands for "dog park".  We do know that, but we go along with the ruse and only get excited at the full words "dog park".

So after Dad agrees with Mom that going to the "D.P." is a good idea, Mom then asks us if we want to go.  We had her video this process so you pups could get it just right.  First you have to tilt your head when your parent first asks you if you want to go.  Then upon the second question, go nuts!  Show them that you want to go really badly!  Even though you're obviously going nuts and want to go, humans feel that they need to ask you several times if you want to go.  It's like they don't understand how we communicate.  Don't get discouraged, humans aren't as smart as canines, and they will eventually get the message.

Next we will cover how to actually get your parents out of the house.

Snow pictures

We finally got computer access.  Between Mom's email checking and Wilbur's research, we never got our turn!  (Wilbur was researching to find the blueprints for Tia's kitty hospital so he could go in and catnap her!  However, she got released and is home now, so he doesn't have to travel to Georgia to rescue her.)

Anyway, as Kat told you in our last post, we got some snow earlier this week.  Here's a picture of me looking quite handsome, as always.

Kat likes it when Dad makes snowballs for her and throws them for her to catch.  I swear, she doesn't act like a husky.  Here's a video of her playing that game with Dad.

Here's a funny picture of Kat trying to chow down on a snowball.
Then Mom took some video of us walking around.  Okay, so we're trying to pull Dad down the sidewalk.  That's what huskies do.  We also like to wrestle on the leashes.  Mom and Dad really don't like it.

Finally, since Kat is the Army of Four safety consultant, she wanted me to throw in this picture of us looking both ways before crossing the street.  We have to make sure we keep ourselves and Dad safe.
I hope we get some more snow soon!
Steve

PS. Sorry the videos are kinda dark.  They were taken before 6 AM and it was dark.

Steve the Snow Nosed Husky

Yesterday we woke up to find SNOW! It was so awesome. Mom and Dad let us play in the snow in the morning and then again at night because it didn't melt. We have some really funny videos, but we have to get those uploaded. In the meantime, I thought I would tell you a story about Steve and then unveil my latest song. Steve hasn't really ever liked the snow when we've seen it. He doesn't want to roll around and make doggie snow angels with me or even walk in the snow much. So I used to make fun of him for that. I mean, what kind of husky doesn't like snow? A stupid one! Then yesterday, Steve walked in the snow and played a game where he kept his head down and plowed through the snow with his nose. Mom caught this picture of him when we were getting ready to go back inside. So that picture inspired my latest song. I hope you like it.

Steve the Snow Nosed Husky
By Katherine Olivia

Stevie the snow nosed husky
Had a very snowy nose!
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it's cold!
All of the other huskies
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Stevie
Join in any husky games!
Then one snowy winter morn
Steve looked out to say,
"Mom and Dad the ground's so white,
Let's go out and play tonight!"
Oh how the huskies loved him
As they woo-ed out with glee
Stevie the snow nosed husky
You'll be cute for all history!

Get Well Tia!

My feline gal pal, Tia, is sick and in the hospital.  Tomorrow is her birthday, so I hope she gets better very soon!  I thought maybe she needed some company in her hospital cage, so I put together a pin-up of my handsome self and pawtographed it just for her.  Tia, I can't wait for you to be back blogging soon!

Walkies

I don't think we've posted anything about our walks in our new neighborhood.  So I had Mom take some pictures of us and also a video.

Here we are doing some smelligation.  There are lots of dogs up here, so we therefore have a lot of stuff to sniff.  The other dogs like to leave a little something behind if you know what I mean.  Mom is glad that Steve isn't into marking his territory because he'd have to stop too many times.
Here's a picture of two very cute, fluffy butts if I do say so myself.  The cutest butt is on the right, but the fluffiest one is on the left.  We always walk with me on the right and Steve on the left.
Finally, here is a video.  I really hope you enjoy it because Mom almost died during the making of this video.  Right at the beginning, when she laughs, it's because Steve stopped abruptly right in front of her and she fell into the fence.  She is so retarded.  She almost died a lot more later in the walk, and no camera was involved.  I really think Mom should try walking on four legs because walking on two legs doesn't seem to agree with her.

Our video is having trouble, so we'll hopefully put it up later.

That's all for now!

Banana Pops!

Back on New Years Eve, Khyra posted about some thing yummy her mom was making for her.  I begged and pleaded with my mom to make them for me and she gave in on my first try.  We first had to go to PetsMart and buy the marrow bones.  Then she bought some bananas and had to wait for them to go mushy.  Finally we were ready to begin mixing.

Mom mashed up the bananas and mixed in the yogurt.  I wanted to eat it just like that, but she said no.
Then she stuffed the bones with the banana mixture.  Delicious!  I told her to pile it on and she did!
She had more stuff left over after she filled our four marrow bones, so she got out her silicone cupcake things and filled them to make banana pupcakes.
We thought we were going to eat right away, but she said everything had to go in the freezer.
Finally we got to eat out bones.

Yummy, yum!

I love this toy

Hey pups, Wilbur here.  I thought I'd share a video with you of me playing with a present from my Missouri grandma and grandpa.  They gave me this thing for Christmas and I love it.  It's got three dangly things on different wires and I just lay under need it and bat everything around.  It's great.  I recommend it for all the kitties out there.

Weekend Update

We had a very boring weekend. Mom was sick and spent the entire weekend on the couch. Lucky for her that I kept her company. Here's what she saw after getting up to go to the bathroom one time.

One highlight of the weekend is that Dad took us to the dog park yesterday. We got really dirty and rolled around in some mud, so we ended up having to take baths when we got home. Dad said we smelled like pigs and he told Mom that maybe we needed a bath. Then Steve walked past Mom on the couch and Mom said, "Oh! Steve! Gross! Yes, give them baths!" So, even though we weren't happy about it, we had to take baths.

Another good thing that happened is that some of our friends from Texas sent us a housewarming present. They sent Wilbur a mouse and Steve and me collar tags. We can't decide who gets what. There is a pink one that says "Fetch It Yourself". Pink is my color, but I like to fetch, so the saying matches Steve to a T. The other one says "It's a Dogs World... Adjust". We both like that one. So we haven't decided. Thank you for the presents! The people who sent them to us are Adopt a Husky of Dallas foster parents and they have a pet store, Fur The Animals. 10% of all orders go to the pet rescue of the customer's choice (entered at checkout), so you might check them out next time you want to buy a present for yourself.
That's pretty much our weekend in a nutshell. Oh, I did do something really helpful. Mom had a big pile of kleenex on the coffee table Friday afternoon. She had come home early from work and Dad wasn't home yet. So while Mom was sleeping, I thought I should throw all the kleenex away for her. On my way to the trash can with the kleenex, I shredded them into little pieces, just so they would fit into the trash can. Unfortunately, Dad came home during the middle of my shredding, but before the trash can, so he thought I was just making a big mess. Can't a girl ever just be helping?

Kat

Update to Weekend Update: Our friends who sent us the presents just started a blog! Go check it out and say "hi"!

Snow!

We had snow on the ground this morning.  It was great!  Unfortunately  it was all gone this afternoon.  Boo!!  We both hope it snows again tonight because tomorrow Dad will be here and maybe he will take us somewhere to play in the snow!!

We had a play date at the dog park on Saturday with Royal, Royal's brother Brock, and the 4B's, Benson, Brody, Bailey and Baxter.  It was really fun.  We even managed to knock Mom over once while playing chase.  That was really cool too.  Mom didn't take pictures, so this is a boring post, I guess.

We will try to make our next post more exciting.  Mom isn't feeling too good today, so we are having trouble getting her to do our bidding with the camera!!

New Collars

Just before Christmas, Kat and I got some new collars because Mom started worrying that we were going to wiggle out of the ones we had.  After much deliberation, we got Wolf Pack collars.  They don't have any buckles to break and they tighten up on our necks if we pull.  Plus we got the ones with reflective strips, so we are even more visible (if our fur isn't in the way!).  We both like our collars.  I got red and Kat got purple.  Mom just realized yesterday that Kat's purple collar makes her look like a University of Washington husky fan since their colors are purple and their mascot is a husky.  She's perfect.

Here's Kat modeling her new collar.
Kat is horrible at modeling.  Here's me modeling my new collar.
(Khyra, this pic is for you, gorgeous.  Sitka, please don't get jealous, I love you too.  You too, Holly, but you're taken.  Same for you MayaMarie, taken by your masked hero.  I have too many girlfriends to keep track of.  My apologies if I forgot to mention you, lovely ladies.)

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2008!!  Did everypup have a good holiday?  Did you stay up until midnight?  We had to wake up our parents at midnight.  Mom and Dad were both sleeping on the couches and so we licked their faces to say, "It's midnight, lets go outside and potty and then go to sleep for real."  They are so lame.  Dad said he didn't even realize he fell asleep.

So our goal for 2008 is to complete the Siberian Husky Club of America's Working Pack Dog title.  So we will start with shopping for packs and then we get to practice walking on trails before going for our official trails.  That should be super fun, we think!!

Steve and Kat

PS. Wilbur's set a goal of making sure Steve didn't find a way to eat any of his cat food this year.

Shopping Trip!!

I had to wear my gentle leader for the first time yesterday.  It was terrible.  Here's Dad fitting it on me.  Notice how Mom has her finger holding my collar.  I was trapped.

Here I am after it was on.  I look very handsome in the picture, but in reality, my spirit was beaten down.  (Kat had to wear her gentle leader too, but she doesn't have it on yet in this picture.)
Just when I thought that Mom and Dad were just going to make me wear the stupid thing for their amusement, they hooked up my leash and said, "Let's go shopping!"  We walked to my new favorite store, Paddywack.  I like Paddywack because they have a lot of good smelling treats and dog food.  Yesterday, we weren't there to buy Canidae, we were picking out a new toy for me since the whole ordeal with Santa.

We really took a long time deciding what to get, but I finally settled on a Kong on a rope.  Here we are back at the house and Dad is dangling it in my face.
I didn't pay much attention to it when Dad first tried to play, but Mom caught me later in the day.
This morning, I have already had a spirited game of tug o'war with the kong on a rope, so I am glad my parents came to their senses that I needed a toy.

New Nickname & New Place to Sleep

I have a new nickname. "Honey Head". You probably think that's a very strange name. It all happened on Christmas...

Mom was making some honey wheat bread and she had some honey in a measuring cup. After she had dumped the honey in the mixing bowl, there was still honey left on the sides.  So when she went to put the measuring cup in the dishwasher, I wanted to help and stuck my head under the top rack of the dishwasher and some honey dripped all over my head!  Dad tried to clean me all up, but honey is pretty sticky and I still have some dried in the fur on my head between my ears.  Mom says it will wear off and now she calls me Honey Head.  She says it fits me because I am a very sweet puppy.  (And yes, she still calls me a puppy and says she will do that forever.)

Another thing I have new is a new place to sleep.  I saw Wilbur sleeping on Mom's lap on the couch and I decided to try it.  Let me tell you pups, it is awesome.  If you're allowed on the furniture, you should definitely try it.  If you're not allowed on the furniture (as we weren't at first) try to cuddle and the parents will probably give in to your cute cuddliness (worked for me).  Anyway, now that I have decided it's good to sleep on Mom, Wilbur and I are learning to share her.  (Mom says she looks ugly and stupid in this picture and I should not post it.  I am looking cute and Wilbur looks pretty tasty, I mean handsome, so I'm posting it anyway.  Ignore my mom.  She had just woke up.)
Have a great day!

My Christmas Ball

Steve mentioned in his post that I got a new ball for Christmas.  He failed to mention that I got the new ball to replace my favorite ball that he chewed up.  Mom couldn't find the exact same "Life is Good" yellow ball for me, so she was worried that I wouldn't like what she got.  She found me a pink Fetch ball from Orbee-Tuff.  She said it felt a lot stiffer so maybe Steve couldn't chew a hole in it, but she was worried that I wouldn't like it as much since neither Mom or Dad knew exactly why I liked my yellow ball so much.

So the pink ball was the first thing I opened on Christmas.  And this is how I spent my time while everyone else opened their presents.

I hope you all found a present you like just as much!

PS. Steve is still pouting about his Gentle Leader, so Dad we can go to the pet store and Steve can pick out a toy.  They claim that because Steve doesn't have a favorite toy, Santa didn't know what he would want and because he pulled on his leash all year instead of learning to walk properly, he was showing Santa that he wanted a Gentle Leader.   Whatever.
