What makes us happy
Our good pals Star and Jack-a-roo gave us this pretty award. We are supposed to list six reasons we are happy. We'll each do two.

I'm not sure how many of you saw the OP Pack's post, but my mom visited them. Without me. Let me repeat that.
My mom visited MY boyfriend, Thunder, and did not take me.
I am very upset. So is Steve. He thinks he would be great friends with Thunder and Phantom and we'd both be honored to meet Princess Dakota.
On the bright side, Dakota, Phantom, and Thunder sent some goodies home for us. Their mom had the presents wrapped up all pretty, but Mom forgot to take a picture of that. Anyway here's everything they sent:
There's even a kitty wubba for Wilbur! Isn't that thoughtful?
Mom let us play with our new toys on the bed last night. Here's me with my ball.
And Steve with his rabbit.
Steve and I both squeaked our toys while Mom and Dad tried to go to sleep.
THANK YOU OP PACK!!! We love everything you sent us!

Mom sewed some vests for Adopt a Husky of Dallas. I'm all for Mom helping Sibes find good homes... until she decides to torture me as part of her efforts.
She made me be the model for the vests. I had to try them on during the initial fabric cutting and then model the final product so she could email the pictures back to Texas.
It was terrible and I ran to hide in the bedroom, but Mom tricked me with Happy Hearts cookies and I came out to the kitchen so she could take my picture.
The good part of the deal is that my suffering did not go unnoticed. One Adopt a Husky of Dallas volunteer sent me some presents for my hard work. My favorite is this bunny.
I guess sometimes sacrifice is worth it.

My life is pretty rough. I spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect spot to take a Kat-nap. It's pretty hard work and involves a lot of trial and error. Luckily, the other day, I found a really good spot.
Mom says to ignore the wet spot on the couch. I have a problem where sometimes I lick things a lot. I had been licking the couch and Mom didn't know I was doing it.

Thanks to the Army of Four, we received these beautiful flowers.
"These pink roses are given to friends, bringing them a sweet and fruitful day. Those who receive these roses as a gift need to pass them on to ten friends to show them you care. And to those who received the roses, it's to show you are never forgotten."
Isn't that just the sweetest thing?
We also want to send everypup over to Sitka, Cornelia Marie, and Tia's blog for a fun game of Name that Snoot! We are really excited for the chance to participate in a game show. Send in your guesses and you can participate too!
Huffle has been complaining about how ugly her yard is lately. Ozzie has been remodeling his yard. Since my yard is uglier than Huffle's, I decided to take a page from Ozzie's book and do some remodeling.
Here's how ugly my yard is. (Mom did a panorama for this, her first one, and it's not perfect, so don't look to closely. Click on the picture if you want a better look.)So to make my yard prettier, I have made the following alterations:
Don't you think it looks good? I heard Mom muttering something about how is she ever going to get grass to grow with my digging, but I think she must be confused or something.
I'm pretty happy about it.
Happy Weekend,
Kat
It's been sunny all week here. We had forgotten what the sun looked like over the past several months of winter, but now that it has made an appearance, we have really been enjoying it.
After our swimming and hiking, we went back to Friday Harbor to wait for our ferry back home. While waiting, we did a bit of walking around. Mom and Dad got chai teas and cookies at a little coffee shop/bakery and we got attention while waiting outside. Then Mom got an idea that we should go take our picture with the "Welcome to Friday Harbor" sign in the background. So we walked out on the pier and started posing.
We did a little hiking on San Juan island too. We got to wear our long leashes for a while too. Mom took some video and it reminded us of videos of the Thundering Herd. So we opened up iMovie and added captions to our video to be even more like The Herd.
Continuing our tale, we next stopped at a place called English Camp. You can read the history of English Camp on this website.
While at English Camp, Mom and Dad put our long leashes on us and let us go swimming in the ocean!
The beach wasn't very nice and was covered with barnacles. Our leashes kept getting stuck on the barnacles, but it was still fun to swim and get wet. Dad threw rocks in the water and we swam to chase them.
After we went swimming, we saw some Canadian geese. Kat tried to hunt them down, but I had other ideas. Do you know that wherever geese are, they leave little tasty nuggets behind? And I don't know exactly what Canadians feed their geese, but whatever it is, it makes the nuggets so delicious that I just couldn't stop eating them. Mom thought it was gross, but I don't know how she even knew since she didn't try any.
Mom took Kat away from the geese and decided to work on some recall. Kat is very well trained and demonstrated an excellent Siberian recall.
The white picket fence you see at the end of the video surrounds the formal garden. Here's a video of Dad and me joining back up with Mom and Kat just outside the formal garden.
We have two more installments in our series about our big adventure. The next one will be dedicated to The Thundering Herd and the final one to Stormy of the Army of Four. Those are your clues!

Continuing our adventure, once we arrived at Friday Harbor, we met up with one of Mom's friends that she used to work with when she worked on cool airplanes at the coolest place for working on airplanes. He brought his dogs, Crockett and Tubbs.
First we decided to ride bikes. We rode around on the roads for a bit, then took a trail where we got to get really muddy. It was awesome.
Next we all loaded up in the car. Mom and Dad in the front. Then Crockett, Tubbs, and their people in the middle, and Kat and me in the back.
We took the car over to Roche Harbor. We got out of the car and walked all over the docks. This isn't a great picture, but it's the only one Mom got with Crockett and Tubbs.
Kat took a moment to look thoughtful at the end of the dock.
We both thought there were lots of good smells around the docks and I wanted to jump in the water, but Dad said it wouldn't be a good idea.
After checking out all the boats, we got in the car again and went somewhere really cool. I'll tell you about that next!

(This post title is a spoof off a skit on Saturday Night Live that makes my dad crack up. It's so silly.)
So back to our big adventure.
After we had stretched our legs and the announcement came over the loud speaker, we got into the car. Dad started the car and we started following the line of cars. I got really nervous for a minute because I thought Dad was driving into the water! However, I quickly realized that we were driving onto a ferry.
We mostly had to ride in the car while on the ferry because pets are only allowed on the car deck, but Mom and Dad did let us get out for a bit to let the wind blow through our fur. This picture was actually taken on the way home, but it shows us doing our best Titanic poses.
Here's a picture of a ferry and we have pointed out where we were standing. We rode the Ferry all the way to Friday Harbor, WA. Next I'll tell you what we did when we got there.

Last weekend we went on a huge adventure. First we had to get in the car and ride for over an hour. Then we got to a place where we bought a ticket and parked our car in a line. While we were parked, Mom and Dad let us out and we got to go take a break and sniff around.
There were also some birds flying around over the water and I liked staring at them.
After we stood around for a while, a person made an announcement and we had to get back in the car. You'll never guess what we did then!

My cookies arrived yesterday, just in time for Wilbur's birthday. As you can see in this video, I was very happy.
We've renovated our blog. Most noticeable is our new blog header. We think it's perfect for us and really demonstrates some personality that Mom can't catch on camera (mostly Wilbur's). The cool people over at Draw You a Picture did it for us.
Next we changed up some of the link lists to be pull-down menus. We think we have included all of our friends, but if you see that you're missing or your link doesn't work, let us know and we'll fix it ASAP.
Finally, we added more pages to our blog, which you can find at the top. We're adding awards and memberships to their own pages so our sidebar stays neat and tidy.
