Dad's Birthday

We are really far behind with blogging. Steve hasn’t been feeling very well. We don’t know what is wrong with him, but he’s just not himself. He doesn’t like to be touched and has started refusing to jump off the bed. Mom is taking him to the vet again tomorrow to see about getting x-rays of his hips and back. So instead of blogging, Mom sits around and loves on Steve and then reads her vet book to try to diagnose Steve. She thinks he has every ailment in the entire book at this point.

Anyway, last time we blogged, we said we would tell you about Dad’s birthday. We gave him a card and some Kit Kats. Earlier in the month he got a new Xbox 360 because his old one broke, so he got his present early. Dad also got this yummy looking cake from Cold Stone Creamery.

A few days before Dad’s birthday, our Texas grandma sent us some special cookies and we saved them to eat on the big day. The cookies were in this tin.

The cookies looked like this. The Texas A&M football helmet is for Steve and the orange leaf is for me. The store didn’t have any OSU helmets, but I liked the orange leaves with sparklies.
Since it was Dad’s birthday, he got to pass out the cookies.​
We got nose-to-cookie and boy, they smelled yummy.
Right after that picture was taken, we got to eat the cookies and I can tell you, they tasted as good as they smelled and looked!

Dad got a new game for his Xbox 360 from our Missouri grandparents and Wilbur helped him try it out.
Note: Mom says not to look too closely at that room because it’s Dad’s man room, which he shares with Wilbur, so she lets Dad be messy up there.

So as you can see, we all helped Dad celebrate his birthday!

Our birthday cookies

For our birthday last week, we each got giant Happy Hearts cookies. They were very delicious. Steve got his first because he can't sit still for pictures if I already have a cookie.

Next it was my turn to have a cookies. I was nice to Mom so I sat pretty so she could get a good picture of the cookie. Wilbur had jumped on the cookie earlier and broke the corner.

After Mom got her picture, I gently took the cookie.

We got to eat the cookies on the bed, but don't worry about the crumbs. We are very good vacuum cleaners.

We're Three!

Today is our third birthday! We're pretty excited. Tonight Mom is going to let us have our birthday Happy Hearts cookies and Dad is going to pick us each up McDonalds ice cream cones on his way home from work. Mom says we even have some presents!

Speaking of presents, the first birthday present we received was from two of our bestest buds, Phantom and Thunder. They sent us this really cute card, which is one of Jack's mom's cards. It's pretty perfect for us as the puppy on the front looks sort of like Kat!

Phantom and Thunder also sent us a gift certificate for Happy Hearts cookies! Isn't that just the most perfect present? As you can see in this picture, Steve has laid claim to the gift certificate. If paw placement is any indication, Steve will be eating all of the cookies and Kat will be lucky to get a small portion. (We hope the Happy Hearts team will accept a wrinkly gift certificate. We were supposed to sit and keep our paws off of it, but Steve couldn't help himself.)

Thanks so much Phantom and Thunder! (Kat says especially you, Thunder.) We are really honored that you thought of us on our birthday. Hey Thunder, how's life being three? Any tips?

Birthday Cake

Last week when we posted about Mom's birthday, several of you left comments about whether or not we were going to get any cake. Mom's favorite cake is chocolate, so we didn't think things looked good for our cake chances. This is the cake that Dad bought for Mom:

Once we saw the cake, we were almost positive that we weren't going to get any. It was covered with chocolate!

Here's what the inside looked like:

Guess what though? We got some cake! Mom is so well trained that she cut a slice of cake for us, then removed all the chocolate parts!

Here we are waiting for our slices. (Excuse our eyes, the flash does that to us. We weren't really sleeping.)

After waiting nicely, Mom said we could dig in.

The cake was delicious! The only thing missing was some ice cream.

Wilbur's Party

My cookies arrived yesterday, just in time for Wilbur's birthday.  As you can see in this video, I was very happy.

For his birthday, Wilbur got to eat an entire can of Friskies for his birthday.  He really enjoyed it.  Kat thought she would enjoy it too, but Dad said no.

We got a cookie cake for Wilbur.  It was salmon cheddar and he thought it smelled yummy.

It definitely was yummy.  Kat and I both agreed on that.

(Kat says I should say that my piece of the cookie looks smaller than hers because I'd already eaten half of it when Mom took this picture.)

I think Wilbur had a pretty good birthday.  I'm going to enjoy eating the leftover cookie cake!

Our Birthday presents

We're pretty behind on blogging about some events. So this week, we can hopefully catch up. Remember back two weeks when we had a birthday? Well, here are some pictures from our birthday evening.

Mom gave us some bully sticks while we waited for Dad to get home from work. Bully sticks are so yummy. Kat and I have the same bully stick chewing form.Once Dad got home, we got to eat our birthday cake. Instead of taking us to Dairy Queen, Dad picked up ice cream cones for us on his way home. So we got cake, ice cream, and cone in our bowls. We even got our full supper, so we had lots of food.
Mom and Dad sang "Happy Birthday" to us and Dad videoed, however the video is too long, so we couldn't post it. Be happy because Mom's singing is horrible.

After the cake and ice cream, we got our presents. Mom and Dad gave me a red wubba and Kat a blue snugga wubba. Kat's snugga wubba was supposed to be purple, but when it arrived, it was blue, but Mom didn't bother returning it. She ordered them online because she's a cheap-o.Doesn't Kat look cute taking her snugga wubba?
And of course, I look handsome with my red wubba.Those are Wilbur's ears in the bottom of that picture and I'm happy to say he didn't get anything.

Kat doesn't really like the snugga wubba because it doesn't squeak. So keep that in mind when you're making your Christmas lists for Santa. We both like the regular wubba.

So that's our birthday. We got some presents from a good friend too and we'll post about that next.

It's Our Birthday!

Here we are about two years ago.

Here we are today.  (We were a little sleepy.)

We're TWO!  We have already received some really great birthday presents that we'll share with you in the upcoming days.  Mom is going to make us our favorite Beggin' Strips cake.  And Dad said we could go to Dairy Queen!  We're going to have a great birthday!

Happy 3rd Wilbur!

Today is Wilbur's 3rd birthday.  Well, it's his gotcha day and Mom calls it his birthday.  She thinks its funny that his birthday is April Fools Day.  Anyway, we got Wilbur a fancy can of cat food so he can feast tonight.

Happy Birthday Wilbur!  You've survived the Ornery Ones, the Terrible Twos, and now you're embarking on the Treacherous Threes.  We hope Mom survives.  :-)

Birthday Cake

Kat mentioned in the last post that Mom was baking a birthday cake for us. I decided that all of my blogging friends, especially Echo, would like to see pictures of the cake and me eating it.

Here's the cake, fresh out of the oven. Those red specks in it are crumbled Beggin' Strips. Yum! Mom cut the cake into six pieces so we've been able to have cake for three nights. She put some plain yogurt on top for frosting. We love yogurt. It would have been a tad better with some banana slices too, but who am I to complain? Here we are waiting patiently for our cake. (Yes, I am being patient. No matter what anyone tells you.) Here's me eating it. It was so good. And here's Kat eating her piece too. Well, I hope you enjoyed our cake pictures. It's our birthday!

Today is a BIG day. Our first birthday!! This morning we got to open one of our birthday presents. It was from our Texas Grandma and Grandpa! It came in a box with cool bird stickers.

Can you believe all the great stuff we got? We got a new Mr. Orange Bad Cuz (remember how our other one mysteriously died?) and a Ms. Green Good Cuz. We got some yummy Canidae Snap Biscuits and some smaller treats that Mom is going to stuff in our Kongs with peanut butter. Yummy! But best of all, did you see the size of those enormous bones? That was Steve's favorite part. He loves them. I am quite fond of Ms. Green Good Cuz and have been carrying her around all morning. Thank you so much for our presents!!

We didn't get a present from Mom and Dad but it's (hopefully) in the mail. They ordered us doggie seat belt systems so we will be safe in the car. Mom waited until now so she knew how big we would be.

Tonight we are having a birthday pawty. Mom is making human cupcakes now and she's going to make us a doggie birthday cake as soon as the cupcakes are finished. We're so excited. Here is the invitation. I hope you all can pawty with us!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is Mom's birthday. We did lots of searching on the internet for the perfect present for her and once we found it, we sent Dad to the store to buy the presents.

Here's what we got her.On the left is Wilbur's present. It's the Amazing Dog Trick Kit. The store had an Amazing Cat Trick Kit, but Wilbur told Dad that he doesn't want Mom getting ideas that she can teach Wilbur tricks. So he wanted her to get her trick teaching fix on the "furry beasts". (That's a quote from Wilbur.)

On the right is what Kat and I got Mom. It's the Healthy Doggie Biscuit Box. It has three cookie cutters and a recipe book full of dog treat recipes. I know how Mom's favorite thing in the whole world is making me treats, so I thought she would adore this present. I can't wait for her to start enjoying it! I'm sure Ulee will like treats as well.

So happy birthday Mom! I'll try to not shed for today only so you don't have to vacuum.
