Camping, Wilbur Style

While the furry beasts were camping the other weekend, I did a little camping of my own.

This is me, camping out on the furry beast cage. I don't normally sleep here, so that's why it's camping.

Look how dry and warm I am.

Mom's Pet Peeve = My New Bed

Dad does something that annoys Mom. When he has clothes that he's worn, but aren't dirty enough to be washed, instead of putting them away, he piles them on top of the chest-of-drawers. It drives Mom crazy. I have found that I can get pretty comfy on top of his clothes.

I hope he doesn't mind a little fur.

Sleeping habits

The other morning, Mom came into the bedroom to get dressed for work and here's what she discovered (excuse the unmade bed).

We better not let that happen again.

Moms make good beds

The other day Dad walked into the living room to find this:
DSC_0015
What can I say, Mom likes to sleep on the couch and I like to sleep on Mom. She's the reverse of those fancy mattresses that conform to your body, so you can see, I conformed to hers.

In other feline news, I received an award from the Bumpass Kitties. Granted, they gave me this award forever ago, but those furry beasts act like the blog only belongs to them! I always knew I would be famous. I just wonder who will play me in the movie about my life.

My new sleeping spot

DSC_0002
My mom has a basket on the counter where she keeps napkins. I've decided that napkins make a nice soft pillow for me to sleep on. I just think I need her to get a bigger basket. What do you think?

I live a tough life...

My life is pretty rough. I spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect spot to take a Kat-nap. It's pretty hard work and involves a lot of trial and error. Luckily, the other day, I found a really good spot.

Mom says to ignore the wet spot on the couch. I have a problem where sometimes I lick things a lot. I had been licking the couch and Mom didn't know I was doing it.

Sleeping positions

I received some positive feedback on my post about my vacation from the furry beasts. Many of you thought I had a good sleeping position. That is one of my favorite ones, but I do have many more, which I am going to share with you in this post.

Here's a pretty basic pose. I think many of you furry beasts will be familiar with it.I like this one too. I use this pose when I need to be a little warmer. You might have noticed how I'm always laying next to the bricks. I think this next picture will explain why I like that spot. It's good for warming your tummy.Even the boy furry beast likes the fire, but he doesn't dare get in my spot.Even though the fire is my favorite, sometimes I sleep on the dog bed, just to show the furry beasts who's boss. Look how sad the boy furry beast looks here because he can't get on his bed.Meow,

Me

The Bumpass Kitties (because I'm sure the hounds had nothing to do with it) asked about my welfare while the furry beasts were at the dog ranch and Mom and Dad were in Oregon. Thank you so much for asking! Actually, I got to have the house to myself. I have my own electronic feeder, so it spits out food for me twice per day and I also have a big water fountain so I always have freshly filtered water to drink. Before they left, Mom also gave me a big can of Friskies.

It was a wonderful weekend. First I pulled down the curtains in the office. The curtains are just the scarf kind and I get in trouble frequently for scratching at them, but since I was home alone, I just scratched at them until they were completely messed up.

Then I got all my toys out of my room. Normally most of my toys have to stay in my room so the furry beasts don't get them, but there weren't any furry beasts!

I also got to enjoy all of my favorite sleeping positions. I've included a sample below. (Just one though because I'm working on a post about sleeping.)
It's so nice to sleep without a furry beast nose in your butt.

So Bumpass Kitties, I was just fine. But it's nice to have friends looking out for you.

Wilbur

Sleeping with Mom

I am very abused.  Mom always says, "Oh Stevie boy, you're so soft and fluffy, come cuddle with me."  As a matter of fact, I am very soft and fluffy, but I'm not certain that I care to do any cuddling.  It doesn't matter though.  Look what she does to me.

I mean, sure she usually scratches my tummy and neck, but really, this is too much.
Finally I escaped.
Really, I love my mom and I want to be close to her, but this is much more my style.  Just give her the tail.

Don't believe everything you hear

Sometimes Wilbur and I do get along, despite what you might have heard.  Mom caught us sleeping together on the couch.  Usually we just coexist on the couch so we can share Mom, but this time, it was just us.  We just can't look at each other.

That's the spot

Sometimes you find the perfect spot for a good nap.  As you can see in the picture, I found that perfect spot the other day.

Super Sexy Steve

Some of you know that my alter-ego, is Super Silly Steve, a superhero who makes everyone happy and causes laughter everywhere I go.

However, it's the first Wednesday of the month and some pups have decided that the first Wednesday is a good time to post pictures of them being sexy. So for today, instead of being Super Silly Steve, I'm Super Sexy Steve. As such, my super hero ability is making humans everywhere want to rub my tummy.

I'm a muffin

In honor of Meeshka's Week 'o 100 Blogs, we are posting our sexiest pictures. Dogs (and cats) across the world are participating.

Here's Wilbur's entry:
Here are my two entries.
As you can see in this next picture, I've been at this a long time.
I went through every single picture Mom has and couldn't find a single picture of Kat sleeping upside down.  She just doesn't really do it much.  So I'm posting this picture from back when we were puppies.  You can see I was trying to teach her what to do.
Enjoy,
Steve

We won the bronze!

We can't believe it. We won a bronze medal in the Pawlimpics! We were contestants in the syncronized sleeping event and we managed to squeak out the bronze. Definitely go check out the results. The gold medalists are a canine/feline team. They definitely deserved the gold for being a cross-species team.

Steve's - A - Nappin'

Now Steve's sleeping.  This is his new favorite spot to sleep, right in the middle of the hallway.  I guess it's a good spot considering it's halfway between the office where Mom is on the computer and the living room where Dad is watching TV.  Steve and I decided to sleep in shifts during Blogathon.

Mom's getting pretty tired and I have no conclusive evidence that Dad is actually awake in the living room.  Mom says she shouldn't have purchased caffeine free Diet Pepsi.  I think I need to go shop at MEESHco and get one of those human zappers!

Katnap

Kat's napping. She curled up with Mom on the couch. I mean, she's really out of it, spooning Mom's legs and all. So that leave me to continue the blogging. I'm going to respond to some of our readers.

First, Huffle has some concerns that Husky Java is made out of huskies. I have it on good authority that it is most certainly NOT made out of huskies. It's called Husky Java because it is specially formulated so that humans feel compelled to let pups lick the last drops out of the coffee cup. Right, Zimmie?

Meeshka observed that Dad was having fun throwing the fire hydrant and Mom was having fun telling Dad to throw it again and again. It's true. I try to keep them entertained. A tired human is a good human!

Star and Jack suggested that a good name for our blog would be "The Adventures of two c/kats and their Dog". I think that's a pretty clever title since we do have two cats/Kats in our house, but I'm not a dog, I'm a Sibe.

Peanut said that pizza crusts are not actually crust and are really pizza bones, a requirement in everypup's diet. I like the way you think, Peanut!

That's it for now! Keep those comments coming, even though it's getting pretty late.

New Olympic Sport

Mom has been watching the US Olympic Trials. That's where all the American athletes try to get on the US Olympic team. Lately Mom has been watching swimming and that gave me an idea. Humans compete in synchronized swimming, but about synchronized sleeping? It's even more difficult because you're asleep and don't know exactly what your body is doing or if you've got a paw out of sync with your partner. You really have to trust your instincts in synchronized sleeping.

Steve and I have formed a team and are practicing. I think it's too late to get synchronized sleeping into the Beijing Olympics, but we are practicing for the next Olympics. I think this should be in the winter Olympics so there will be snow, so we've got two years to get the Olympic committee on board!

PS. We added a Blogathon pledge counter to the right side of our blog. That way you can keep up!

New Nickname & New Place to Sleep

I have a new nickname. "Honey Head". You probably think that's a very strange name. It all happened on Christmas...

Mom was making some honey wheat bread and she had some honey in a measuring cup. After she had dumped the honey in the mixing bowl, there was still honey left on the sides.  So when she went to put the measuring cup in the dishwasher, I wanted to help and stuck my head under the top rack of the dishwasher and some honey dripped all over my head!  Dad tried to clean me all up, but honey is pretty sticky and I still have some dried in the fur on my head between my ears.  Mom says it will wear off and now she calls me Honey Head.  She says it fits me because I am a very sweet puppy.  (And yes, she still calls me a puppy and says she will do that forever.)

Another thing I have new is a new place to sleep.  I saw Wilbur sleeping on Mom's lap on the couch and I decided to try it.  Let me tell you pups, it is awesome.  If you're allowed on the furniture, you should definitely try it.  If you're not allowed on the furniture (as we weren't at first) try to cuddle and the parents will probably give in to your cute cuddliness (worked for me).  Anyway, now that I have decided it's good to sleep on Mom, Wilbur and I are learning to share her.  (Mom says she looks ugly and stupid in this picture and I should not post it.  I am looking cute and Wilbur looks pretty tasty, I mean handsome, so I'm posting it anyway.  Ignore my mom.  She had just woke up.)
Have a great day!

Bedroom Steve

Since Dad is gone, I'm the man of the house.  (No matter what Wilbur says.)  I am really taking my new job seriously.  I don't want Dad's side of the bed to be unused, so I have been keeping it warm.

Here I am curling up against the pillows so they don't miss Dad.
Another time I decided to sleep on my back, just like Dad.
Finally I decided to sleep like a person, with my head on the pillow and my front leg over my mom's "cuddle pillow".
Mom says I'm doing a good job keeping her warm at night, so I hope Dad is proud of me.
Steve

PS. Dad got a job offer today, so he will be moving up here soon!!  We don't know for sure when, but probably after Christmas.  He'll be here for Christmas too, so we don't have much more time without him!
