Presents from Khyra

My lovely gal pal, Khyra sent Kat and I some great presents for our birthday. I knew she would send something good, so I couldn't wait for Mom to open up the box. I was so impatient that I almost chewed it open myself!Khyra sent us some wubbas! We were so excited. I have been wanting a wubba forever and my mean mom wouldn't buy me one. (I didn't know that Mom had bought me one and hid it away until my birthday.) Mom let us have the wubbas from Khyra before our birthday, so we played with them a lot before we got the ones that we showed you in our last post.

Khyra wanted me to have the purple wubba since it's her signature color. I really liked it!Kat was supposed to get the red wubba. She likes hers too.We also played some good fetch with the wubbas.

Khyra also sent us some stuffies. She sent Kat a bird and sent me a squirrel. I love the squirrel.Did I mention I REALLY love the squirrel? Finally, Khyra sent us some bully sticks and we took those with us when we met Huffle's humans. They were delicious!

Thanks Khyra!

Our Birthday presents

We're pretty behind on blogging about some events. So this week, we can hopefully catch up. Remember back two weeks when we had a birthday? Well, here are some pictures from our birthday evening.

Mom gave us some bully sticks while we waited for Dad to get home from work. Bully sticks are so yummy. Kat and I have the same bully stick chewing form.Once Dad got home, we got to eat our birthday cake. Instead of taking us to Dairy Queen, Dad picked up ice cream cones for us on his way home. So we got cake, ice cream, and cone in our bowls. We even got our full supper, so we had lots of food.
Mom and Dad sang "Happy Birthday" to us and Dad videoed, however the video is too long, so we couldn't post it. Be happy because Mom's singing is horrible.

After the cake and ice cream, we got our presents. Mom and Dad gave me a red wubba and Kat a blue snugga wubba. Kat's snugga wubba was supposed to be purple, but when it arrived, it was blue, but Mom didn't bother returning it. She ordered them online because she's a cheap-o.Doesn't Kat look cute taking her snugga wubba?
And of course, I look handsome with my red wubba. Those are Wilbur's ears in the bottom of that picture and I'm happy to say he didn't get anything.

Kat doesn't really like the snugga wubba because it doesn't squeak. So keep that in mind when you're making your Christmas lists for Santa. We both like the regular wubba.

So that's our birthday. We got some presents from a good friend too and we'll post about that next.

My annoying life

My life has many annoyances.  Here are just a couple.

Just take one look at this picture.  See what I have to endure!  The boy furry beast has his nose in my butt!
Mom got a new camera.  So naturally, she wants to take lots of pictures of my handsome face, but it's very obnoxious.  I made a face to let her know how I felt.
Finally I got some peace and quiet on the back of the couch.  I have to keep an eye on my front yard from this spot.
I hope your lives aren't quite as annoying.
Meow,
Wilbur

Cookies for Huffle's Humans

A couple weekends ago, we met Huffle's humans.  They have abandon Huffle for four weeks to go on vacation (holiday as they say).  We feel horrible for Huffle, but we were very happy to get to meet her humans.

We met them for lunch at one of the only restaurants in Seattle that allows dogs to be inside!  We hadn't ever been there before, but it was fun.  Khyra sent us some bully sticks (more about that later) for our birthday so we chewed on the bully sticks while Huffle's humans and our humans ate.  Then we went over to a park to take pictures.  The bad thing is that Mom didn't take her camera!  So all the pictures are on Huffle's mum's camera and we won't get to see them until they return from their holiday.  Hopefully Huffle will post them on her blog.

Mom had learned that there are some snacks we have in the USA that don't exist in Australia.  So Mom thought it would be fun to give Huffle's humans some of those items.  One thing that she knew Huffle's humans hadn't tasted was snickerdoodles.  Snickerdoodles are our Missouri grandpa's favorite cookie, so Mom decided to bake a batch and give them to Huffle's humans to snack on during the remainder of their trip.  We thought it was a good idea too, so we helped bake the cookies.
Huffle, thanks for sharing your humans with us for a few hours.  We loved meeting them!

Football Time!

Since it's Saturday, College Football Day, I decided to post these pictures of last weekend.  It was a big day for Steve and my college teams.

First, Texas A&M (Steve and Dad's team) played Kansas State.  Steve and Dad were totally ready to cheer them on.  Go Aggies!
Unfortunately, the KSU Wildcats managed to tame the Aggies and Steve and Dad were very sad.  (Wilbur was happy since he says cats always win.)
Next up was Oklahoma State playing Missouri.  Mom and I LOVE OSU!  We were super excited to cheer for them.
It was a big game for OSU since they were playing Missouri AT Missouri and Missouri was the #3 team.  Notice I say WAS since OSU won!  Mom and I were super happy as you can see in this picture.
Okay, I was happy on the inside.  Really.  Don't believe what you see in that picture.

Today is another big day for our teams.  Unfortunately for Steve and Dad, I'm predicting that the Aggies will come up short again since they are playing #7 Texas Tech.  However, I hope that Mom and I are still happy at the end of the day since now #8 OSU should have a fairly easy game against Baylor.  I hope I didn't just jinx it!

Go Big 12!

Agility

My first agility class is finished. I passed and now I get to go on to the Advanced Beginners class, starting in November. Mom and I took Dad with us to class on Wednesday so he could take pictures and videos of me doing my thing. (There's lots of videos in this post, but most are less than 10 seconds.)

First we practiced the broad jump. Dad got this good picture of Mom and me. Don't I look like a white-tailed deer?Dad also took this picture of me jumping. I'm so fast, even the camera can't catch me!
Next we went on to the chute. Here's a good picture of me just peeking out of the end of the chute!Dad didn't get a video of me doing the chute.

Next it was time for the dog walk. I love the dog walk. The teachers had the dog walk at a lower height since we are beginners, but I love to run fast on it!

After the dog walk, we went to the weave poles. Right now, we are just running though the middle of the poles and every class, the teachers move the poles closer and closer together. We practiced the weave poles a bit by themselves, then we added a jump and the tunnel onto the end. The tunnel is my favorite!

Then the teacher decided to make it a bit harder and we had to do the jump and weaves again after the tunnel.

After that combo, we did a combo of the broad jump, a regular jump and the tire.

At this point, class was over, but I still wanted to show Dad how I can do some of the other obstacles. Here I am doing the A-frame.

And finally, the teeter-totter!

I hope you enjoyed watching my agility class. It like you all were there too! Dad said he would come again to the last day of Advanced Beginners class so he can take pictures of the new things I have learned.

Walkin' Wednesday - Steve Style

I decided that I would participate in Walkin' Wednesday this week.  Actually this video was taken on Monday, but that's okay, I think.

This first video is what Kat and I do when Mom gets the leashes out.

Next, here's Mom and I on our walk.

It started pouring rain.  Mom's pants got so wet, she thought they might fall off because they were so heavy.  It wasn't the normal Seattle drizzle, but real rain, like we had in Texas.  So Mom and I headed back home, but she took this rainy video on the way.

Dad and Kat made it home too.  They were drenched!

I'll have to do another Walkin' Wednesday when I'm not interrupted by rain.

It's Our Birthday!

Here we are about two years ago.

Here we are today.  (We were a little sleepy.)
We're TWO!  We have already received some really great birthday presents that we'll share with you in the upcoming days.  Mom is going to make us our favorite Beggin' Strips cake.  And Dad said we could go to Dairy Queen!  We're going to have a great birthday!

WOOO!

Fetching Sunday

Last night, Steve and I decided to celebrate the evening with some fetch. We have our parents very well trained. They throw the ball everytime we give it to them. See, humans can be smart sometimes.

Here's Steve training Dad:

And here's me training Mom:

Mom's pretty good because she can video and throw at the same time!

What happens when you don't use professionals

Here's a picture of our bathroom now.

Yeah, that's right, there is no flooring in half of the bathroom.  Once Dad got the leaky toilet out, he discovered that the seal between the toilet and the pipe that goes out of the house had been leaking and had ruined the flooring under the toilet and there was water puddled under the floor for a lot further radius around the toilet.  So there was no other option but to take out the flooring.

Dad claims that the flooring would have been messed up even if he had used our professional canine plumbing services.  We disagree and say that it's all his fault.  We could have surely done something to stop it.

Look, the humans think they are so smart.  They put the rug down.  Oh yeah, we can't even tell there is flooring missing now.
Next time, hire the S&K Plumbing Service!

S&K Plumbing

Here's how our day went yesterday.

Dad: $%&%##@
Steve: Hi Dad, I'm Steve!
Kat: And I'm Kat!
Steve and Kat: We're from S&K's Plumbing Repair.  What seems to be the problem?
Dad: The toilet is leaking.
Steve: Not a problem!  I brought all my tools.
Kat: And just let me take a look over here.
Kat: Well I can see right here that the toilet is leaking from the bottom.
Steve: Look!  This bolt is broken.  Let me give you a tool to remove it.
Dad: This bathroom isn't big enough for the three of us, so why don't you let me handle it?
Kat: Fine!  I can tell when I'm not wanted.  Let's go, Steve!
Steve: Grrr...

In our next post, we will tell you what happens when humans try to fix things without the help of canine professionals.

I'm so famous

Back in July, Steve posted about participating in a Cover Dog Contest. I didn't get to go in July because Dad wasn't home and for some crazy reason, Mom didn't want to take both of us. So Mom decided that Steve was the most photogenic and so he went to be in the contest.

Since every dog entered in the contest gets their picture in the magazine, last month, Mom and Dad took both of us to another contest so I could get my picture in the magazine. Unfortunately neither one of us won that contest either. Mom was very disappointed. I was disappointed at Mom because she's a bad agent. How am I supposed to become a celebrity with her as my agent?

This week, Mom discovered that City Dog Magazine is going to publish a calendar. Check out this link to discover just who is featured in the calendar and on the advertisement. Now who's the most photogenic? Maybe I'll be famous after all.

Kat

PS. If any Seattle dogs want me to pawtograph their calendar, I would be happy to do it. :-)
