One Last Post

We have one more thing to write before we go to training. Mom thought it would be "so cool" to take pictures of the family (minus Wilbur who doesn't like pictures) every month as we grow. So here's the first installment.

Good bye for now

We won't be writing for a while. About two weeks actually. Mom and Dad are going to get married, whatever that means, so while they are gone for the wedding and honeymoon, Steve and I are going to stay at Man's Best Friend. While we are there, we are supposed to get trained. They said they could even train two husky siblings who only want to wrestle. (That's us!) Anyway, with all that training, we won't have time for blogging. We posted three new videos from Christmas, so you can just watch them over and over if you miss us. And when we get back, we will have to video ourselves doing all of our training, or maybe not doing it which would make Mom and Dad unhappy.

Have a happy new year! See you in 2007!

Squeak, squeak, SQUEAK!!!

Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas! We were all supposed to go to Missouri to Mommy's mom and dad's house, but since Mommy got sick, we had to stay home. So this morning we got up and opened presents. I got a squeaky bone. I just learned how to squeak it. Who knew that toys had squeaky thing inside them? Now I do. I take the squeaky bone all over the house with me. When I go get water, I take it with me to see if it wants water. When I go lay by the couch, it comes and lies by the couch. We are best friends. I don't even need to play with Steve now that I have a SQUEAKY BONE!!!

Here I am with Mommy and my squeaky bone before I unwrapped it.

Can you believe that treats come out of a ball?!?

Merry Christmas everyone! Steve here and I learned something new on Christmas. Ever since we came to live in this house, there have been these balls on the floor that rattled. Today I figured out that the rattling is really treats! And if I roll the ball just right, the treats will come out and I can eat them! It is so great. I got a squeaky bone for Christmas, but who wants to squeak a bone when they can roll a ball and eat treats!! That's what I've been doing all morning. Well, I better go. Dad is watching "Eight Below" so I need to go watch too and look cuter than the huskies in the movie.

Here's me with Dad and my present.

I tricked Santa!

Today is Christmas and yet again, I tricked Santa into thinking I was good this year. Yes, that's right, he brought me presents. In fact, I got more presents than the furry beasts. I got a thing with feathers at the end of a stick that I started attacking before Mom even got it out of the package and also a laser pointer that the beasts keep trying to chase too. They are not very good at chasing the laser pointer. Mom and Dave have to slow it down so they can keep up. They aren't as fast and agile as I am with my tiger-like instincts. That laser doesn't know what hit it when I attack!
Happy Holidays,

Me with Mom and one of my presents.

This present doesn't know what hit it!

Photo Update

I am behind on writing about my adventures, so I thought I would post some pictures and quick comments about what I've been up (and in) to.
Mom graduated from Oklahoma State University, so she bought a bandana for Kat to wear. (Kat is supposed to be the OSU fan and I'm supposed to be the Texas A&M fan.) However, one day when Dad was out walking Kat, Mom dressed me up in the bandana to play a joke on Dad. He wasn't happy. :-)
Last weekend, Dad and I took a nap on my bed. Mommy thought we looked cute, so she took our picture. We had to go to the vet last week, so here is a picture of us at the vet with Mommy. She looks weird in this picture, but don't tell her I said that.

Last Sunday, Mommy took us on a LONG walk so we got really tired. We spent several hours that afternoon sleeping in the back yard.
Well, that's the stuff I've been doing lately. I'll be sure to write about Christmas.

What do huskies do with sick mommies?

Mommy is home sick AGAIN!! Steve and I think this is good news because she can barely talk. So when she says what usually comes out as "NO!!", now it sounds like "no" so we just pretend that we can't hear her when she says, "no", "down", "here puppies", etc. It's a good excuse to be bad and trust me, we don't need any excuses. So most of the day yesterday when Mommy was sick, she just stayed in bed and we had to stay in our kennel just like if she was at work. But today, since it's raining, whenever the rain stops, Mommy gets up to let us outside to potty because she knows we won't go out there if it is actually raining. Then once we go potty, we rush back inside (because it's wet out there and that really messes up our fur) and play. Today we were playing some Tug 'O War, which I must say is really fun except that I am at a disadvantage because Steve outweighs me by 3 pounds!! (When we went to the vet last time, I weighed 11.3 pounds and Steve was 14.1 pounds.) Anyway, we better get back to work playing and keeping Mommy from getting bored while she is sick.

PS. For all of you who like our videos, we posted some new ones!

What is happening to my voice?!?!?

Today Mommy isn't feeling good. So she stayed in bed instead of going to work. But, since she and Dad made this new rule about how Kat and I should be in separate kennels during the day so we can have alone time, she put us in different kennels and tried to go to sleep. Well, we were going to have none of that. So Kat and I were yapping up a storm. Then the strangest thing happened. I was saying, "Yap!! Yip!! Screech!! WOOOOOO!!!" What is that noise? I have never made a deep "WOOOOO" noise. I don't know what to think. Mommy said that I am getting my grown up voice. I did sound sort of mean and scary. Maybe I can make the WOOOO noise to the dog next door and scare him. That would be good. He'll never realize I'm just a puppy. He'll think I am a wild wolf, about to eat him. Okay, it's decided. I like my new WOOOOOing. If only I could learn how to control it!

Christmas Tag!

Steve and I got tagged by the Army of Four to play Christmas tag. The rules are that we have to say three things we do want for Christmas and three things we don't want for Christmas, then get five of our doggie friends to do the same thing. So here we go!

Three things we DO want for Christmas:
1. To not get in trouble when we go to the bathroom in the house
2. Steve wants to get more food than me
3. I want to get a toy that Steve doesn't steal from me

Three things we DO NOT want for Christmas:
1. To have to go outside in the rain
2. Not being allowed in the closet where Wilbur's food and litter box is

3. More of that yucky stuff sprayed on things we want to chew, but Mom and Dad do not want us to chew

Here are the doggies we are tagging:
Moonshadow, Macie & Malechai, Turbo, IndyPindy, and Althea.

We got our pictures taken with Santa today! So we told him what we wanted for Christmas and that we could pull his sled for him if the reindeer got sick or forgot how to fly.

I'm Famous!

I'm only 8 1/2 weeks old and I have already gotten famous! This is what happens when you're as cute as I am. Anyway, the Army of Four posted a picture of Steve and me because they think I look like one of their older sisters. I must say I agree! She was super cute. No wonder her name was Lucky! She also looked very pretty when she grew up to an adult dog, so I know that I have good looks to look forward too. So I'm glad that my new blogger friends are making me famous! Mommy says that she could "totally" get addicted to blogging. I'm not sure why she can get addicted. Since when does she blog? Steve, Wilbur, and I do all the blogging.

Mom also saw that the Army of Four humans adopted two puppies at a time when they got Lucky and she is wondering how they ever survived. Mom and Dad are really having trouble training Steve and me because we absolutely can't stand to be apart. They take us outside to potty, but instead we just play. We never want to play with Mom and Dad, just each other. So Mom says that if any huskies have ideas on how to deal with two puppies at once, they should let her know. I personally don't see why she has such a problem with us not wanting to potty outside or be apart or play with her, but I guess she feels left out. Maybe she secretly wishes she could potty all over the house and bite and wrestle nonstop.

Sympathy Love

On Saturday afternoon, we were sitting at home with Mommy and she was waiting on Daddy to get there. So Steve and I started wrestling just like was always do. (Really, if you think about it, do we ever stop wrestling except to eat and sleep?) While wrestling, I got up on my back legs to try to knock Steve over but instead, I slipped and knocked my head on the floor. Since Mom and Dad are replacing the carpet in the house, there are only concrete floors, so it really hurt when I hit my head. Mommy rushed to my side and picked me up and started cuddling me and asking me if I was okay. I just laid there, limp in her arms. So she picked up her phone and called Daddy and was asking him when he was going to get there because I was hurt. So I just laid very still while Mommy was holding me and Steve was running around like the crazy, jealous dog that he is. Then Daddy got there and Steve started barking at him to get attention, but Daddy just came to Mommy and petted me and asked me if I had a headache. Once Daddy was there, I decided that my head didn't hurt anymore. I just wanted Daddy to get home because I am Daddy's Cutie Pie.

Bath Time

Mommy said I was smelly and that I must be itchy since I scratch all the time, so she said I should take a shower. I haven't never taken a shower, so how was I supposed to know what it would be like. Mommy was talking in an upbeat voice and so I thought, "Sure! This will be super fun. Just me and Mommy without Steve hogging her attention!" So Mommy takes me into the bathroom and takes off all of her fur (she calls them clothes). Luckily she let me keep my fur on. Then we get into this little area and it started raining! In the house! So Mommy got me all wet and drippy. I was not looking very cute and fluffy. In fact, she said I looked like a rat! Anyway, so Mommy washed her hair and then she washed my fur and then we both rinsed off and then she wrapped me up in a fluffy towel. The shower really wasn't so bad because Mommy got in there too. It wasn't nearly as bad as the bath when Daddy held me down in the tub while Mommy poured water over me with a cup and they weren't even getting wet. At least this time I knew Mommy was suffering too. All that being said, I hope I don't have to take showers very often.

PS. Here's a picture of me sleeping with my teddy bear, Rupert.

I'm the boss of these dogs

I have learned how to show the puppies who's the boss. I have started sleeping on all of their stuff. No one does sleeping better than me, so I am doing really well. I sleep on their crate and on their bed. Sometimes when I don't feel like sleeping, I just stand outside the door of their crate so they can see that I don't have to be locked up, so that must mean that Mom loves me more. It's all about mind control with these beasts. By sleeping on top of their crate, I am showing them that I have on top of them in the Pet Hierarchy of the house. It's great.

Hurray! Dad's Coming Home!

Mommy told us that Daddy is coming home today. I am so happy because Mommy is getting grumpy when she has to let us out to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Hopefully Daddy is so happy to see us that he won't care if he has to wake up and let us out and if he has to clean up any poopy presents we leave for him. So this morning, before we got in our kennel, Mommy rubbed us down with these wipe things to make us smell good for Daddy. She said she wanted to put bows around our necks but we would probably just chew them off, so she didn't. She's right. We would just chew them off. We can't help it, things are tasty.

Mommy has been calling me "her little piggy". She says it's because I hog all the food and attention and make grunting noises. I don't really understand that. I am a puppy or a dog and not a piggy. She doesn't call Kat a piggy. Weird.

Well, I better go practice my cute faces so I'll have it perfected for when Daddy gets here!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

This was our first entire weekend at our new house. Steve and I discovered that weekends are great because Mommy is home all day and so we can be out of the kennel most of the day too! We took full advantage of being out of our kennel so that we could sleep in places we don't normally get to sleep. Mommy couldn't believe how much we were sleeping! She watched two movies with her friends on Saturday night and we slept through both of them. (The movies weren't about dogs, so we really didn't care about watching them.)

Yesterday, Mommy hooked those rope things on us and walked us down the street a little ways to visit the lady who lives two houses from us. She wanted to see our cute, furry faces. I liked it at her house because she has a lot of plants in front of her house, so I took full advantage of chewing on fresh plants. Steve is such a pain in the butt though because when he was not paying attention, the lady started petting me and then Steve started barking at her because she wasn't paying attention to him. He thinks he needs to be the center of attention all the time.

I really can't believe it, but I forgot to write about the best thing that happened on Thursday. SNOW!! There is a video of Steve and me playing in the snow, but I forgot to write about how wonderful it was. Mommy was shivering, but we did not want to go inside. We kept looking around for a sled for us to pull, but we don't have one yet. Plus there wasn't a lot of snow, so we will have to wait for more snow before sledding. Mommy said that Aunt Kari said there is lots of snow in Missouri and that she wanted to go sledding, but Uncle Joe wouldn't go. I wish I had been in Missouri because I would have gone sledding with her!! Anyway, here is a picture of us in the snow.

It's a good thing I'm cute!

Mommy didn't have to go to work today, so we got to play most of the day. Mom was getting really frustrated with me because I kept going to the bathroom in the house and when she would take me outside, I just wanted to play. I even made Kat play when she would try to go to the bathroom outside. So Mom was getting mad because Kat couldn't go to the bathroom outside since I kept interrupting her. Mom never yelled at me, but I could tell she was getting annoyed. So to make it up to her, Kat and I decided to go sleep on our bed and look extra cute so she could take a good picture and then she would forget about all the bad stuff we have done all day. Cuteness is such a handy thing!

Human Cleaning

Today Mommy said she had to do some cleaning since she has friends coming over tomorrow. She doesn't like our dusty footprints all over everything. (Wilbur's footprints are on more things because he can jump on top of stuff, but she still blames us.) So she got out this machine that was really noisy and she pushed it around the house. It sucked up the pieces of the stick I brought in the house the other day, so I wasn't too happy. So anyway, the noisy machine scared Steve and me, so we went and hid under the table. While we were hiding, we accidentally fell asleep. We aren't very good at being alert guard dogs.

Mommy also turned on this other machine in the kitchen that she puts her dirty food dishes in. It is also very noisy, so Steve and I barked at it for a while. I'm not sure why humans need such noisy things to do their cleaning. When I clean myself, I don't make any noises because my licking is very quiet. Dogs are better than humans at cleaning, I've decided.
