Blogathon Prize Update

Opy and Charlie, the Dogs With Blogs lead dogs, won a gift certificate for Happy Hearts Dog Cookies during Blogathon.  This week, we got an email from them saying that since they live in Australia, they wouldn't be able to get the cookies through customs.  We are really disappointed, and I'm sure Opy and Charlie are as well.  So what we did is assign everyone who didn't win a prize in the big prize drawing during Blogathon a number.  Then we got a random number generator off the internet to pick a number.  The winner is the Waterdance Pack and they will now be receiving the gift certificate.

So now we'll be sending the gift certificate out to our new winners.  Congratulations!

Hi pups!  This is our last post until Blogathon.  Today, we finished our pre-blogathon training by going on a run.

Yet Another Super Cool Prize

Our final "high-value" prize item is also a very unique, special item.  This time the winner will have a choice of what they receive.  The winner can choose either a custom painted stone (roughly 5x7-inches)or a memorial box (also approximately 5x7-inches).These items are hand-made by our friend Sophie's mom.  If you're the lucky winner, we'll put you in contact with Sophie's mom and you can let her know which item you'd like and send her some pictures to use for the painting.  We featured pictures with kitties, but go check out the website, Small Meadows Friends, for more examples of the work Sophie's mom does.  It's really cool.

Thanks again to Sophie and her mom for donating this really cool prize.  We really appreciate it.  We also want to send out lots and lots of Sibe Vibes to Sophie, as she hasn't been feeling well lately.  We know her mom is taking great care of her though and we have all paws crossed that she will get better SOON!

Here's the official prize description from Sophie's mom:

The winner has a choice of: (1) a medium-sized stone (approximately 5x7-inches) painted in the likeness of the animal of the winner's choice (wildlife or domestic) or painted from pictures of the winner's pet; or (2) a "memory box" with the face of the animal/pet woodburned on top and lightly painted, with the pet's name engraved (if desired).  Box sizes vary and will be discussed with the winner.

Another big prize announcement

Our second "high-value" prize for Blogathon is a scarf.  You might be thinking, "But a scarf isn't that exciting."  However, if the scarf is made out of your own fluff, then it's VERY exciting!  That's right, a special SOS-SRF volunteer has offered to take up to 6 ounces of some pup's fur and spin it into yarn and then knit a scarf with it.  You can see some pictures on how this works on the SOS-SRF website.  If you're the lucky winner, you'll receive instructions on how to gather up your fluff and send it in to get it made into a scarf.

Now, we don't have a Steve and Kat fluff scarf, so we turned to our friends in Florida, the River Hill Pack, for some advice.  Their mom has a sweater made of husky fluff.  Here's what they had to say about the sweater:

It is VERY lightweight, definitely under a pound, but thick.  It's incredibly soft to the touch (imagine husky undercoat) and the closest I can come to for texture is furry cashmere, but it can't really be compared to anything else, it's very unique and very luxurious.

They also said that the sweater is very warm, but all us huskies could have predicted that!

Big Prize Announcement

We have a huge prize announcement today.  Many of you are fans of some very famous Kansas Siberians, Stormy, Amber, Zim, and Dave, the Army of Four!  As you know, Dave works extra hard as a Guide Dog to the Color Blind to make sure that his mom sews things together that will be absolutely beautiful.  Well, Dave and his mom have been working very hard on a special prize for Blogathon.  We're VERY proud to unveil a special ONE OF A KIND KZK original bag, special for Blogathon!
