Hiking in the snow

On Saturday, we packed up the 4Runner and went to the mountains to go snowshoeing. When we got there, the trail was packed down so Mom and Dad didn't wear their snowshoes and we just hiked.

Here's a view of the trail.

We stopped for lunch and Kat and I camped out on a snow mound. Mom decided it was a good time to take a quick picture over her shoulder.

The ground and trees were covered with ice crystals. I tried to take a picture for you.
100_3089
We decided to take Mom and Dad down to the ice caves. Here we are leading the way.

We got to the bridge we needed to cross to get to the caves and look what we discovered!
100_3091
The bridge had washed out! I tried to look for where it went, but I didn't see it.

Mom made us pose for a picture.

Finally when we were almost back to the car, Mom made us pose again. (We're so cute, she just can't help it.)

We like it better when Dad is holding cookies.

I complain a lot when I have to put my backpack on, but really, I love it!!

Looks like a wonderful place for a hike. You're both so nice to humor your mom about the photos.

hi kiddos, that looks like a really cool place for a snow hike. we wonder if you get snow in your pads though. when we go in the snow, we get snow packed into the middle of our paw pads and mom has to clean it out for us. she thinks our feetzies will freeze. she's such a wimp.

woofs.

Great fun!!! Did woo ever get to the caves? That would have been so cool! All the pics are great, but the posed ones are superb. Mom tries so hard to get the three of us together, but Phantom ALWAYS has to sit or stand a little bit away from us.

That all looks like fun but I think I'd rather stay in the house with Wilbur.

Hey Woos,
Thank you for sharing your snow hike. We had our first snow today but it wasn't too much and y'all would probably call it just a dusting. Our dad says that you two are fine looking animals and he is not surprised that your mom takes pictures of y'all. Our dad had to live in a snow cave on Mt. Baker for 3 days when he was flying out of Whidbey Island. He says snow caves can be awfully small, very dark and very cold. He also says that Washington is a beautiful state. We think he is jealous of youse guys.

Hoo-ray! What a fabulous day out. I've thought about getting Ari a pack for her food, but I'm worried she'll just run around in circles trying to bite it out (she's already bitten through EVERY pocket in ALL of my jackets. hmmpfff.)
