Game #4
It’s time for another game. This time the prize is a bag of Wholesome Hides.
They look really tasty, but we haven’t gotten to try this bag out since Mom says it would be rude to give out a partially eaten bag of chewies. We disagree, but we obeyed her anyway.
Here’s the question:
Name a lead dog in the first Iditarod.
Rules review:
Here’s how the game works. We’ll ask a question and the first pup or kitty to leave the correct answer in our comments will win the prize. All answers are available online and most (but not all) are on the SOS-SRF website. One final note is that you must have pledged to win a prize. If you still want to pledge a donation, just send us an email at stevekatwilbur AT gmail DOT com. You can still play along even if you do not wish to make a donation.

We would have to look that up and mom says she's not doing it this time. I hope someone else's parents are better at helping them then mine.
Momma says they're leaving for dinner so we'll have to wait and play when they get back.

Actually the Lead Dog winning the first Iditarod (which was the race, not the serum run the race commemorates) was Hotfoot. The year was 1973 and the musher was Dick Wilmarth.

I am thinking.... the first iditarod was in 73... and Dick Wilmarth won it. His lead dog was Hotfoot.
