Mark your calendars...

Mark your calendars, pups and kitties, and start napping! Blogathon is in two months! That's right, we're doing Blogathon again this year and it would be great if as many pups as possible stay up with us! This year, we are blogging for Save Our Siberians - Siberspace Rescue Fund. It's their 10 year anniversary! Also, we are happy to have a sponsor - Fur the Animals! We're excited to have them as our sponsor because 10% of EVERY order goes to the rescue of the buyer's choice. So if your favorite rescue isn't signed up to receive rebates, tell them to sign up so you can start shopping and earning credit for them! Fur the Animals donated some cool toys for us to give away but also every pup who pledges $35 will get a $5 gift certificate to the store and if any of you pups give your parents the sad eyes and get $50 or more to pledge, you will get $10 to spend. (Steve says to buy treats!)

It's not time to make your pledges yet, but we just wanted to give you pups time to save up your allowances. We'll keep you posted as more news develops!

(We actually saved this post for today because Mom thought Blogathon starts two months from today but apparently, she can't tell the difference between a "6" and an "8" on the calendar, so really Blogathon is July 26, not July 28! We can't leave her in charge of anything.)

Safety Notice

Hi pups!  It's Kat, your public safety consultant.  I had something happen to me earlier this week and I wanted to make sure all of you pups are aware.

If your parents bring home food from a fast food place, beware of the paper bag!  It might smell good and appear to have food in it, but if it is empty, it will bite your face.  In case it happens to you, please watch this video for the proper escape procedure.

Be safe pups!

Clubhouse Warming Gifts

Today we got a cool package from Echo, Meeka, Shyla, and Shadow.  They sent us some housewarming presents for our clubhouse.  Isn't that super nice of them?  We were really excited.  Here I am checking out the box.  Yep, it had my name on it!

Mom tried to take pictures of us looking at what was in the box, but of course, we were too excited to sit still, so she had to resort to video instead.  However, she did get some pictures of us with the cool card!  Here I am reading it.
Of course, Kat wanted to see too.
Here's all the stuff they gave us.  It's great to have such awesome friends!

We have never received a bag of fluff from our friends, so we had to take a sniff.  I now feel like I've pretty much met Echo!

Those mail man treats were looking so tasty, so Mom didn't make us wait and just let us have them as an appetizer to our Canidae.  Echo, they were delicious and you should get your mom to get some for you!

Finally, Wilbur LOVES his treats.  He almost ate the bag trying to get some more, so Mom had to hide it in the cabinet!

Thank you so much for the presents.  Mom says if the rain stops this weekend, we will make our paw print stepping stone.  I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I got a job!

As some other pups have mentioned on their blogs, MayaMarie, Missy, and Bella's mom is starting a gourmet dog treat business.  I sent in an application to be a professional dog treat taster.  I am proud to say that I was hired!  My services don't come cheap, either.  I got paid in three different flavors of treats.  I had Mom send an email with my professional opinions about the treats.  I hope MayaMarie, Missy and Bella got it since our email was being weird that night.  Anyway, unfortunately, I had to share my payment with Kat, even though she really isn't very qualified to be a professional taste tester.  Here's a video of our first tastes.

Yum!

Tagged and Gardening

We got tagged by Amber to play Japanese name tag.  Our copy and paste is acting up, so see the rules on the A04's blog, please.

Steve = Arichikuruku
Kat = Mekachi
Wilbur = Meikitatudoshi

I think Kat's is the best since we could actually figure out how to say it!

Second, Mom finished a lot of her gardening this weekend.  She had Dad hang up this window box on the front of the clubhouse and then she planted some pretty stuff in it.  We are supposed to be good and leave it alone.  So far, so good.
She also finished the two beds that she was working on during her digging contest with Kat.  So far, we haven't dug up these plants, but I have decided to start peeing on them.

Hope all you pups had a good weekend too!

My Final Exam

I've been taking Stormy's correspondence class on taking proper Siberian photos.  Below is my final exam submission.  Sorry for the abundance of photos, but I think it really proves that I have learned a lot!

In these pictures, Mom was trying to get a picture of the cut on my nose, but she didn't have any cookies.

Memoir - Wilbur

No one tagged me to play this game, but I don't care.  I'm going to play anyway.  I'm not even going to tell you the rules because I don't want to.  Besides, the boy furry beast already posted them.

(Note: This post is for Huffle, because she asked how come I wasn't on the blog more.  Thank you, Huffle.  I should be on the blog more.)

Memoir - Kat

I guess I should finally post my memoir.  Steve was much more on the ball than me.  So here goes.  (See Steve's post for the rules.)

I'm going to take a page from Khyra's book and start all the words describing me with a "k", whether that's the dictionary way to spell them or not.

1. Kranky (Only sometimes!)
2. Kunning
3. Kute
4. Kuddly
5. Katch
6. Kwik

I think everypup has been tagged, but if you haven't, GO FOR IT!

Digging Contest

Mom decided to plant some stuff in the empty flower beds in the back yard.  So we had a digging contest - Mom versus me.  The winner gets the title of digger extraordinaire!

Here's my digging.
And a close up.
Here's Mom's.
Her close up.  It's a pathetic excuse for a hole in my opinion.
So who do you think won the contest?

I will post pictures soon of the finished product.  Mom is also going to put a window box with some flowers on the front of the Siberian Clubhouse, so I will post those pictures too.  I don't think she's going to get it done until next weekend though.

Luckily, Mom and Dad have pretty much finished everything in the guest house where they live.  So that means more time to hang out in the backyard with us and work on the clubhouse!  Dad is going to build a new ladder so Steve and I can get on top of the clubhouse easier.  Also, the current ladder is next to the fence, so they have some crazy idea that we would try to climb the ladder to jump over the fence.  Where do they get these ideas?  So Dad is also going to try to move the ladder away from the fence.

Clubhouse Update

We've done some redecorating in the Siberian Clubhouse, so I thought I would give you pups a tour.  (We still have some work to do to the outside though.)

First we hung some pictures up.  On one side, I hung up some pin-up pictures of my darling, Thunder.  He's so handsome.  (Paws off, ladies, he's taken!)
Above my pictures of Thunder, I hung up a picture of two huskies running in the snow.  Oh, how I wish one of them was me!
Opposite my pictures, Steve has some pictures of Khyra.  He especially loves the picture of her snooter in the snow.
Above that, he has a picture of another husky laying in the snow.
Last night, we had Mom sew us some pillows for the clubhouse.  Here's what they look like.  (We need to get our maid to vacuun the clubhouse, huh?)
This is a close-up of the fabric.  I think it's cute.  It says, "Woof", but I think the "f" is silent, so it's really "Woo".  :-)
Well, I hope you enjoyed the tour.  Come over and visit anytime!

Memoir - Steve

Khyra and Echo tagged me to play in a game quickly spanning the Blog-o-sphere.  Here are the rules:

1. Write your own six word memoir.
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you'd like.
3. Tag at least five more blogs with links.
4. Don't forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.
5. Have fun!

So here we go...

1. Silly - I think this is self explanatory.

2. Super - This is my Superman pose.

3. Hungry - I do love to eat!

4. Handsome - All the ladies love me!

5. Playful - I always am up for some wrestling and play time.

6. Speedy - Just ask Kat!

So who should I tag?  I think a lot of pups have already been tagged.  I'll tag the Brat Pack.  If they include their foster pup, that's five doggies right there!

Kat will be up next with her memoir.
Steve

PS. Thanks to Tucker, we have identified the Kat's prey.  It was a Steller's jay. Tucker, you are one smart Sibe!

Birdy Beware!

It's me, Kat, again! I don't have any pictures of this adventure, yet I thought I'd tell you all about it anyway.

The other day, Steve and I were in the backyard playing. This was before Dad worked on the fence to make it escape-proof (more about all of our escapes later). So Mom was watching us pretty closely to make sure we didn't end up in the deaf-old-lady's yard or the neighbors-who-leave-their-gate-open's yard. However, Mom was also unloading the dishwasher, so she wasn't actually watching us every second.

So all of the sudden, Mom heard this terrible squawking. She looked out the window and saw me with a bird in my mouth and another bird trying to fly away. She hollered at Dad to go outside and take care of it. Apparently Moms are not equipped to deal with bird situations. So out cameDad, armed with a grocery bag and a shovel. By this point, I am bored with the bird that I so grandly caught out of mid-air and Steve was standing over it. (Steve was trying to take credit for the bird, but we all know he would never actually be fast enough to do anything.) Dad picked up the dead bird and took it back to go in the trash dumpster.

However, that was not the end of the saga. The other bird managed to get up in the tree and just kept squawking at me for a long time. It also flew and hopped from tree to tree as I walked around the yard. Mom found this very disturbing, but I was just daring it to stop talking smack to me and come fight me like a man. We would see who wins! It never did... YET! All birds must watch out when they visit MY yard!

Kat

PS. Mom doesn't know what kind of bird it was. She's pretty bird stupid. It was blue and had a "mohawk". She couldn't find the type on wikipedia after trying for like at least 30 seconds so she gave up. I couldn't help either because all I saw was yummy!

House Warming Presents!

Hi ya pups! It's Kat and I just want to apologize for our lack of posting lately. Mom has been so busy with unpacking the house. Wilbur keeps trying to go outside, so he ends up locked in the office while the humans are going in and out, so that has kept us from the computer. We have lots of adventures to blog about, but first we have to say THANK YOU to the Forget Sit and Stay Gang. They sent us some really cool clubhouse warming presents.

First, we got a snuggle heart. It's really pretty and red and is supposed to absorb your scent so it's comforting. Unfortunately, I haven't rubbed a lot of scent on it because I've been busy playing with the other toy they sent us, a jailbird! Everypup needs one. It's so fun. When Mom first opened the box, she thought it was a penguin (as she says on the video), but it's a black and white striped bird with a ball attacked to it's leg. I have been so perplexed why the bird will not let me have the ball. It's bugging me a lot and I have been shaking the bird and everything, but it won't let go of the ball. So I take it everywhere I go, just in case it relaxes and releases the ball. So far, no luck. The bird is good.

They also sent us some yummy rawhide. It was a healthy kind of rawhide too and is very tasty. Steve gives it four paws up.

Here's the video of us opening the box.  Please ignore the neighbor mowing their yard.  Mom made us open the present outside because at that point, the house was still messy with boxes.

Not to be left out, they sent Wilbur something too. (I bet Witty Kitty had something to do with that!) Since Wilbur doesn't have his own super cool outdoor clubhouse, they sent him a really cool tunnel. It's got like three spokes with dangly things. Unfortunately, that's all I know about it because Mom put it behind the baby gate so only Wilbur can play with it.  Here's Wilbur checking out his tunnels for the first time.

So thanks so much, pups (and Witty)! We love everything!
