Vacation Time

Wow, it's only Wednesday and already this has been a great week! Mom and Dad are on vacation this week and it is so fun. Kat and I haven't had to go in our kennels at all. We get to go on multiple walks during the day and wrestle in the middle of the day and nap in the living room. It is awesome! (Except the vet visit today. That wasn't awesome. The vet person stuck things in places I won't discuss.)

Mom said that if they win the lotto then every day could be like a vacation day. However, she said not to get my hopes up. Too late! Hopes are already up! I need to research this "lotto" thing and figure out how to make sure they win. Maybe if Turbo becomes president, then he can take care of making sure my parents win the lotto. Or maybe Meeshka can take care of that when huskies rule the world.

Anyway, I've been playing with my cuz a lot. It was lost for like a month, but Dad found it right before we went to Missouri. It was stuck under the couch. So I've been trying to make up for lost time.

Here's a video of me playing with it. It's kind of a long video, and it's really boring in the middle. My mom can't figure out how to edit the movies for me to make them shorter and more exciting. Oh, and Mom sounds ridiculous in this video.

I hope all of you pups are having as good of a week as me!

Farm Dogs

Steve and I went on our first trip this weekend. We went to Missouri to visit our Missouri grandparents. Here we are in the car getting ready to go.We are really good at riding in the car. Steve wasted no time getting comfortable.I also settled in for a nap during the 7 hour car ride.Once we got to Missouri, we put on our farming clothes. Mom made us John Deere bandanas since our Missouri grandpa is a farmer and has John Deere tractors on his farm.

It was fun up there except that we had to be tied up. We're really not used to that. Our grandparents live in the country, so they don't have a husky proof fence. Actually, Mom and Dad don't have husky proof collars for us either because I broke my collar within about ten minutes of being tied up. Steve and I were wrestling and I went to run away from him and snap! My collar was broken and I was free! Luckily for Mom and Dad, Steve started barking and I went back to see what his problem was and Dad grabbed me. I got a different collar and didn't manage to break that one. (I broke my pink collar that I wrote about last week.)

On Sunday we went to Kansas City to visit my mom's aunt, uncle and cousins. Her cousin was graduating from high school and after the graduation, we got to play in their yard with our cousin Sam. He's a lab, but he was still fun. They have a fence, so we got to run free and also help Sam dig a hole under their deck. (Well, I think we did most of the work, but Sam supervised since it was his yard.)

Also on the farm were this giant thing we had never seen. At first, we thought it was a Great Dane. However, Mom said it was Grandpa's horse named Stage. We wanted to play with him so badly, but Mom and Dad said no. Instead I just sniffed him through the fence.

Also we saw these other things called cows. They were afraid of us and never would come to the fence, so I didn't get to smell them very well.It was fun on the farm, but we were both happy to get home. Dad took us for a bike ride as soon as we got home and then we went to sleep and slept until 6:30 this morning! That's really late for us. We were pooped from the weekend!!

Our Collars

It's my turn to write about collars! We each have two collars and a harness. Our collars and harnesses match too. One of our collars is a correction collar. I like to pretend that it's a pretty necklace. Steve and I get really excited when those collars come out because that means that we are getting to go for a walk.

Here we are in our correction collars.
Our other collars (and harnesses) are blue (for Steve) and pink (for me). Here is Steve modeling both collars. You can't see the blue because he's so furry! On the blue and pink collars, we have our name tags, rabies tag, and city registration tags.

I don't have a picture of myself modeling my pink collar. There are two reasons for this. (1) Steve is a camera hog. Every time Mom tried to take my picture, Steve would stand in front of me so he would be in the picture. (2) I don't like to pose for pictures, so none of the ones with me turned out.

Have a good weekend everypuppy!

Wilbur's Collar and Tag

Hey huskies and Tia, lots of you have been posting about your collars and tags, so I thought I would too. (Plus Tia asked me a specific question about it, so this is my answer to her.)

I wear an orange collar that has the black letters "OSU" around it. It stands for "Oklahoma State University", where my mom went to school. Tia asked me where I got it. My mom found it at a store in the town where the college is located.

I also wear a name tag. Don't laugh at me, but it's a pink heart. I didn't pick it, my mom did, and I'm not sure I will ever forgive her for making me wear pink every day. I'm a boy!! She said that pink is really stylish for men these days, so remember that when you're laughing at me. My tag has my name and a phone number that people can call if they find me. I'm an inside cat, but I try to get out of the house every chance I get, so at least once a day Mom or Dad is chasing me around outside. Mom wants to make sure if they can't catch me that other people know how to get me home.Well, that's my daily apparel. The furry beasts will post about their collars tomorrow or Friday.

Do we have what it takes?

Yesterday Mom saw a show on TV that was like a beauty pageant for puppies. The episode that she was watching was in Atlanta. There was a husky in the competition, but he didn't win. (I think the judges were not thinking clearly.) Anyway, during the commercials, there was an advertisement for an online contest called the Picture Perfect Puppy Contest. So Mom entered us in it. If you think we make picture perfect puppies, then you can vote for us here. And in case you can't remember how cute we are, I'll post an old picture of us to jog your memory. It's a "10", don't you think?

Have a happy Sunday,
Steve
Update: You can vote more than once if you would like.

Pool Puppies

We got a pool. It is so fun!! Living in Texas, pool are the only way a husky can survive. (At least that's what we told Mom right before she went to the store.) It is really great to be able to get wet and NOT be taking a bath! In fact, yesterday we went for a walk and found some mud and instead of giving us a bath, Dad just filled up our pool and we went swimming to clean the mud off. It was fantastic!

Wilbur doesn't like to go swimming. However, he did like resting in the pool right after we got it and it was inside. Now that the pool has been outside, it has to stay outside, so Wilbur doesn't get to hang out in it anymore. I'm sure he's sad about that, but what's a cat to do? They don't like to swim, so he just has to stay inside and watch Steve and me have fun.

Here are some videos of us playing in the pool. Mom sounds really goofy, so you can just tune her out. (Trust me, it can be done. We do it all the time.)

Tummy Tag!

Sitka tagged us in a game of Tummy Tag. The rules are that we have to show you all our tummies then tag three more puppies! This is the perfect game for us because we all like to show off our tummies. So here are our pictures.

Here's Wilbur relaxing on the couch and ottoman. Check out Kat sawing logs on her bed!Steve is doing his best to get comfy on the rug.Now we tag our friends Five Happy Hounds, Marley, and Royal. Have fun pups!

The Big 1-0-0!!!

This is our one hundredth blog entry! Can you believe how much we've changed since we started blogging? We've had so much fun writing about our adventures and meeting so many doggie blogging friends. We hope you all have a good weekend. We're going to spend the weekend at our boarding place because Mom and Dad are flying to Nebraska. We said we could fit in their suitcase, but they said they needed to put clothes in it. Silly Mom and Dad.

Steve and Kat

PS. Holly, we will be sure to put lots of smell-mail on Mom and Dad in case you see them in Nebraska. That way you will be able to recognize them and we can say "hi".

Biking Excitement!

Mom videoed us the other day when we were getting ready to go for a bike ride with Dad. We get so excited when the harnesses come out and we get suited up! It makes us feel like we are true sled dogs.

Lake Adventure

We took a field trip to a lake. It was pretty cool because there were ducks all over. I tried so hard to grab a duck and eat it, but Dad is a really good anchor on the other end of the leash. Mom and Dad didn't let us get completely in the lake to go swimming, but we got to get our paws wet. There were waves coming in and I kept chasing the waves. Steve would bite at them, but I just ran along the crest of the wave with my mouth open, plowing water. Mom and Dad were laughing so much at me that Mom forgot to video it. (That's saying a lot because Mom likes to video EVERYTHING!) I know that Sitka gets to go to the ocean sometimes, but since we don't have an ocean where we live, I guess the lake is the next best thing! Here are a couple of pictures of me when Mom wasn't laughing too hard.

Kat

Dad, come on! Let's get that duck!

Why do I have to lead Dad around on his leash? It's really slowing me down.

Evidence

Some of you have moms who like to view Kat and my suffering. I'm not naming any names (Sitka, Stormy, Zim, Amber, Dave), but you all might want to watch out. Apparently my mom received requests for video of our teeth brushing sessions. So today, out came the toothbrushes, toothpaste, and of course, the camera. Mom got Dad to be the camera man and document our torture for all to see.

Steve

PS. Kat would like it known that she had to endure extra torture because not only did Dad video her getting her teeth brushed, but he also videoed her during an extremely private time - potty time.

Who am I?

Yesterday, Dave posted his impression of Holly's brother, Samuel. Today I am posting my impression of Dave doing an impression of Samuel. (That's not at all complicated.) This picture is from when I was only 7 weeks old!

Easy Cheese

Have any of you pups tried cheese from a can? Let me tell you, it is amazing. All you have to do is get your paws on a can of it and lick it just the right way and cheese squirts out! It's an incredible invention. I managed to get my paws on a can of it and I didn't share it with Kat. I took some pictures to show you my cheesy moves.

Here I am making my initial pounce on the can of cheese. That can didn't know what hit it!

Next I had to concentrate really hard so I could get the nozzle just right to squirt the delicious cheese into my mouth. Finally, once I had enjoyed some cheese, I was really happy. So I suggest that all of you huskies and other puppies try some cheese as soon as you find some that your parents have tried to hide from you.
