We can swim!
Sorry we haven't written much this week. Mom was busy and we couldn't get on the computer. Since we haven't written, we haven't told you about going swimming last weekend in a lake. It was so fun. We went to a dog park that has a lake section.
When we first got there, Mom and Dad took us to go swimming. Here's our first swimming experience.
After getting used to the water and getting really wet, we went over into the large dog section of the dog park. There was another husky there. He was shaved though, so he wasn't fluffy like Steve or me.See all of that dirt? Steve and I used it to our advantage. Since we were wet from swimming, we wrestled and rolled around in the dirt and managed to get really dirty. Here's a video of us running around. You might not even be able to recognize us because our white fur is all brown.
Once it was about time to go home, Mom and Dad decided that wet puppies in the car would be better than muddy puppies in the car. So we went to the swimming area again to clean off. This time we were much braver and started swimming in the deep end. Then I heard Dad say, "After this, we are going home." So when he started calling my name, I just ignored him. I was just trying to be a good husky!
After we finally got out and walked to the car, Mom and Dad dried us off as much as they could with towels. Once we got home, we had to take a bath because we were still kind of gross. I don't like taking a bath, but it might have been worth it for all of the fun we had at the park!

Wow Steve and Kat - that looked totally awesome. Mom said that she did not see a fence around the water area. Is there a fence around the water to keep you in??? You two did very well swiming and looked like you were having so much fun!

That swimmin' looks like fun! Now that dad's on his "summer" vacation, maybe he'll take me for some campin' so that I can swim.

Wow! That is so awesome that the dog park has a section where you can go swimming!! Amici has just discovered the water and at the Valley Street dog park the only water there is the tub that is supplied (there is drinking water too). When he's hot he jumps into the tub and splashes around at least 6 or more times. We went to the ocean a few weekends ago and he seemed to like that. I was too scared to let him off the leash though (not sure if he would come back- wasn't fenced) so we just waded. He seemed a bit unsure of what to do when the waves came in, he usually would pull us back unto the beach. Lake water must be so much fun because you probably don't have to worry about your pups getting sick from drinking it! It was hard to let Amici enjoy himself and yet still try to get him to understand that drinking salt water is dangerous.
What a fun day you all had. :) Nice videos!
Sitka,
There was a fence around part of the water, but not the whole thing. That made Mom and Dad kind of nervous. At first, we wouldn't go in past where we could touch, but once we got braver, we went really far. Dad says that next time he might bring our super long leashes and put those on us just in case!

Shadow,
I think we might get to go camping this summer too. I hope you have fun!

Amici,
Wow, I would love to try out the ocean! That must be great!
Kat
Oh man how could you guys go in that water? There is something wrong with that.
The park looks fun though.
Ok, that looked TOTALLY fun!!
Love the videos! Excellent job not listening well, or coming when called! You are forgetting your training rather quickly, like a good husky should.

Oh my... you were brave siberians and your mom and dad were brave to let you get in the water without leashes. Mom said that she could tell your dad was getting a bit nervous with one of the "Steves" that he called out! I am very glad that you both minded like good little pups and came back when your mom and dad called you!
Hugs,
Sitka
That looks like so much fun! I'm glad you two had such a good time.
Wow, we've never been swimming. You guys are pretty good at it. Was it lots of fun?
