Lake Adventure

We took a field trip to a lake. It was pretty cool because there were ducks all over. I tried so hard to grab a duck and eat it, but Dad is a really good anchor on the other end of the leash. Mom and Dad didn't let us get completely in the lake to go swimming, but we got to get our paws wet. There were waves coming in and I kept chasing the waves. Steve would bite at them, but I just ran along the crest of the wave with my mouth open, plowing water. Mom and Dad were laughing so much at me that Mom forgot to video it. (That's saying a lot because Mom likes to video EVERYTHING!) I know that Sitka gets to go to the ocean sometimes, but since we don't have an ocean where we live, I guess the lake is the next best thing! Here are a couple of pictures of me when Mom wasn't laughing too hard.

Dad, come on! Let's get that duck!

Why do I have to lead Dad around on his leash? It's really slowing me down.

Wow Kat, that lake sure looks pretty! I can not believe that your mom did not have her video camera!!! It sometimes is not fun to lead around our parents. They can slow us down, can't they?

Aren't humans just the slowest ever? I have to put my humans on a leash EVERY time we go for big walkies, and they are just so slow. Last night I wanted to eat a robin, but nooo...we had to walk at human pace.

Your lake looks lovely!!

Kat that's a real nice pool you've got there. We just have a little blue round plastic lake. There aren't any ducks in our lake though. Maybe next time your Dad will let you play with it.

Did you get to go swimming? I like swimming! So does Sam, he has his own swimming pool, but it's too small for me. The humans are planning to buy a bigger pool this year, so hopefully I can fit into this one!

We can never trust our bipeds off-lead, either. It's for their own good. Mom might run into a quilt shop or something.
