Farm Dogs

Steve and I went on our first trip this weekend. We went to Missouri to visit our Missouri grandparents. Here we are in the car getting ready to go.We are really good at riding in the car. Steve wasted no time getting comfortable.I also settled in for a nap during the 7 hour car ride.Once we got to Missouri, we put on our farming clothes. Mom made us John Deere bandanas since our Missouri grandpa is a farmer and has John Deere tractors on his farm.

It was fun up there except that we had to be tied up. We're really not used to that. Our grandparents live in the country, so they don't have a husky proof fence. Actually, Mom and Dad don't have husky proof collars for us either because I broke my collar within about ten minutes of being tied up. Steve and I were wrestling and I went to run away from him and snap! My collar was broken and I was free! Luckily for Mom and Dad, Steve started barking and I went back to see what his problem was and Dad grabbed me. I got a different collar and didn't manage to break that one. (I broke my pink collar that I wrote about last week.)

On Sunday we went to Kansas City to visit my mom's aunt, uncle and cousins. Her cousin was graduating from high school and after the graduation, we got to play in their yard with our cousin Sam. He's a lab, but he was still fun. They have a fence, so we got to run free and also help Sam dig a hole under their deck. (Well, I think we did most of the work, but Sam supervised since it was his yard.)

Also on the farm were this giant thing we had never seen. At first, we thought it was a Great Dane. However, Mom said it was Grandpa's horse named Stage. We wanted to play with him so badly, but Mom and Dad said no. Instead I just sniffed him through the fence.

Also we saw these other things called cows. They were afraid of us and never would come to the fence, so I didn't get to smell them very well.It was fun on the farm, but we were both happy to get home. Dad took us for a bike ride as soon as we got home and then we went to sleep and slept until 6:30 this morning! That's really late for us. We were pooped from the weekend!!

Those horse things smell weird. Our girl hangs around with them alot and when she comes home we sniff all her stuff. She brought home her saddle and we thought it was a big shoe. Meeka met some horses and wouldn't stop barking so Dad had to bring him home. Isn't country air stinky?

Wow, you were sooooo close to us! KC is only 2 1/2 hours from Omaha!!

I love the video! I think that horse wanted to play with Steve really bad!

Glad you had fun on your trip. But I agree, it's always nice to be home!

Wow Steve and Kat - how cool that you got to be close to a horse! I have some that live across from my house, but mom won't let me go see them. She gets to go see them and even brings their smell back to me. Not fair!!!

Kat, about my puppy pictures - yes, we do look very much alike!!!! Crazy huh?

Wilber.. stealing food is awesome isn't it? Meow - Tia

I have some stupid cows as neighbors. Yeah, they don't come to the fence to see me either! I'm 1.5 hour from KC. The D'Azulians live north of there.

Sounds like a super fun weekend. I wish I could see a horse and cow up close.

WOWZERS, Kat! You and Steve were really brave with the horse! And Stage wasn't even afraid of you! That'd be fun to have a horse around - wonder what it would be like to do zoomies in the living room with one? Did Stage come in and play in the house with you?
We're only 2 1/2 hours from KC, too. We should have all tried to meet there!
Play bows,

PS: Dave wanted to know if a horse would take up much room in the bed? Or do they sleep on the floor?
