Dreaded Gentle Leaders
My buddy Ozzie had been complaining about wearing a Gentle Leader. I admit, they are the most awful husky torture devices ever invented. I can't believe Santa ever thought I wanted one for Christmas last year.
Today Mom decided to walk us. She doesn't like to walk us together so she made us wear our Gentle Leaders so we would be more controllable. She also has a walking belt now so her hands are free. Why do you think she needs free hands? Because she wanted to walk to the nearest latte shack and get something warm. Now we see where her priorities lie!
Anyway, after she cornered me and bribed me with a Happy Hearts cookie, Mom put my Gentle Leader on. I had to immediately go to work trying to free myself.
I didn't have any success with freeing myself inside, so I agreed to go outside and pretend to walk. I was really looking for opportunities to free myself outside.
Here's a video of Kat making doggie snow angels and then later in the video, we sort of walk like proper sled dogs (aka side-by-side).
I have more videos of my antics, so I will share those in the days to come.

We are sure the Geneva Convention prevents the use of the Gentle Leader. Love the snow walk videos!
Your mom is giving our momma bad ideas. Apparently, I walk like an angel when alone but when together, we act like it's a competition for who can misbehave more.
Princess Eva
We guess your Mom got the snow she has been wanting.
We have all had the dreaded torture of the Gentle Leader. Thunder and Dakota have learned to walk properly but Phantom will never stop pulling so he still has to wear one.
Wish we were there to walk with woo.

Look at that SNOW! We got ice. Yuck! If Santa comes to your house before he stops here can you ask him to bring a big bag of your snow to us?

Aw, poor Steve. We remember when woo got that nasty gentle leader for a CHRISTMAS present last year. How horrible! WHAT KIND OF A PRESENT is THAT? We're hoping Santa Paws is extra nice to woo this year, to make up for it.
Your snow looks soooo woo-nderful!

That gentle leader thingy is not coming off no matter what. We have to say that you did give it a good try.
You two should just love this weather.
Great videos - I especially like Kat's Siberian snow angels! Ha roo!
Hey, I got the Gentle Leader off so fast in the store when my mom tried it on me then when the "expert" fitted it on me that Mom didn't buy it. Let me know if you want any pointers on how to get out of it, Steve.

Steve, I am so sorry. I feel like your mom got some ideas from my bost bitchin' about the stupid thing. I recognize the little dance you did on the couch. I am getting quite good at that one these days. I have gotten mine off before so I say keep on trying.
It looks like you had a blast despite the torture device. How's all that white stuff smell anyway?
Written from my own little Guantanamo. I hear they have the water board ready too.

Should I call the ASPCA Steve? Surely that's some kind of husky abuse.

PeeEssWoo: I think LB needs a Gentle Leader!
Wow! Look at that snow. I am so jealous! I liked Kat's body plant into a drift. Too funny!!! We seriously are coming up to your house. It is about to go back into the 70's here :::POUT:::.

What have your humans done to you? Gentle what? Go rub up against the walls with that stuff!

I agree...what was Santa Paws thinking with the gentle leader! Keep workin' it Steve you will get it off! BOL! I must say though that in that last video you were walking like a super dog! Good job to both you and Kat!
I bet you & Kat are excited beyond belief with all the snow as it is such a rarity over there...Mom is excited to see what it looks like over there tomorrow as we are heading to my Nanny's for Christmas! Too bad you don't live closer to her...I would make Mom set up a play date! ;)
Kisses & Merry Christmas,
Nala
HaWoo Steve and Kat.
Here's Danya's instructions to git dem Gentle Leaders off.
1. When you start your walk, git up on your hind legs. Lean into your maw if you has to.
2. With front paws, place dem on da sides of your snoot.
3. Hooks claws into nylon around snoot and push down.
4. Keep repeating #3 until you slides it down to your snoot.
Worked for Danya everytime. Maw gave up on it.
Husky kisses,
Biloxi
WOO WOO Steve and Kat
Mom tried that torture device on me (Marco) - you have to use your front toenails to pull it off!!! Seriously - it works! Mom gave us and she usually puts the collar and prong collar on together so we don't pull but now she plays Cesar and we have to walk nicely until she says OK!! Whatever, if she thinks we are playing attention she is happy!

Hey Woos,
Jubal had to use the Gentle Leader thing cuz he was pulling all the time. After a month or so he decided that if he quite pulling that dad would go back to a regular collar and, sure enough, he did. So Jubal agreed not to pull if he didn't have to wear the contraption. If the people put the thing on right it's really hard to get off. Just concentrate on having fun while you've got the snow. We don't think we'll see any until January or Fenruary.
