Playing Baseball with Dad

Aunt Kari and Uncle Joe sent us some cool presents for Christmas, so I thought I'd share one with you. They gave us a bat with a basket on the top for throwing balls. Now, you know that Siberians aren't too big into chasing balls. Well, actually Siberians might be pretty good at chasing balls, we are just very challenged at bringing balls back. I am pretty good at bringing balls back, but only in the house. Most of the time I won't play fetch outside, but Mom and Dad recently bought us new cuzes and I really like to fetch that outside. So Dad decided to use the cuzes with our new bat.

Mom said we had to play baseball outside, so here we are.

We had a lot of fun with the bat and Dad enjoyed it because he could scoop up snow and throw that at us too. As you might have noticed in the video, a lot of our snow had melted and if you look outside now, you won't see any! It's horrible.

The Orange Thing

I've gotten lots of comments on The Orange Thing I received for Christmas. Here's a video from Christmas morning. I'm not sure what to think about it, but I like the toy on a stick.

Wilbur

PS. Happy Anniversary to my humans!

My last snowy walking video

I promised to take you all back to one spot where I found some really cool Christmas lights. So on Christmas Eve, I got Mom and Dad bundled up and I took them (and Kat) out for a walk.

Here's what happened when we got to my cool lights spot.

Unfortunately, the lights didn't work. Mom thinks that since they were motion sensored, the motion sensor was probably under so much snow, it couldn't sense any motion. The Santa lights were really cool though and I really freaked out when they started talking to me!

Later, we found some other really cool lights. Kat and I were very interested in one house, but Mom wanted us to pay attention to a different house.

Well, that's my last snowy walking video too as most of our snow has been stolen by the snow thief. Hopefully we will get more snow, but I have a hunch it won't be the same.

We must have been nice

Yesterday was Christmas morning and we got so much stuff, we must have been really nice. It's interesting though that most of the stuff we got was from people who don't live with us! We put together this slideshow of our Christmas.

More snow playing

For Christmas eve, we are going to share a couple more snow videos.  The snow is coming down again right now.  These videos were taken before we had as much snow as we have now.

Steve doesn't like this video because Mom is mean and calls him a name.

Well, that's it for now.  We hope that by sharing these videos, all you puppies without snow can share our fun.
Kat

PS. Steve wants you all to know that he hasn't forgotten that he has to go back and video Christmas lights.  We are going to do that tonight.  It's been slippery out and Mom has been walking us in the daytime, but we will go back and video Steve's special surprise lights today!

More fun stuff to do on snowy walks

I'm here again today to tell you about some more fun stuff to do while you're on a snowy walk.

I like to walk close to the bushes and trees along the trails and sidewalks.  It's great fun to brush off all the snow onto your back and perhaps onto your mom.  (My mom thinks it's cold, but what does she know?)

Next it's fun to pair up with your sister and zig-zag all over the street.

It's also fun to plow snow with your head and make your mom giggle.

Finally, Kat demonstrates the art of blazing a new trail.  The sidewalk we were walking down here is covered with new snow, so Kat was trying to clear the way.

Well, that's it for my instructional videos.  I can't wait to see your videos of you trying these techniques!

Dreaded Gentle Leaders

My buddy Ozzie had been complaining about wearing a Gentle Leader.  I admit, they are the most awful husky torture devices ever invented.  I can't believe Santa ever thought I wanted one for Christmas last year.

Today Mom decided to walk us.  She doesn't like to walk us together so she made us wear our Gentle Leaders so we would be more controllable.  She also has a walking belt now so her hands are free.  Why do you think she needs free hands?  Because she wanted to walk to the nearest latte shack and get something warm.  Now we see where her priorities lie!

Anyway, after she cornered me and bribed me with a Happy Hearts cookie, Mom put my Gentle Leader on.  I had to immediately go to work trying to free myself.

I didn't have any success with freeing myself inside, so I agreed to go outside and pretend to walk.  I was really looking for opportunities to free myself outside.

Here's a video of Kat making doggie snow angels and then later in the video, we sort of walk like proper sled dogs (aka side-by-side).
I have more videos of my antics, so I will share those in the days to come.

Announcements

We have two announcements for today.

The first: If you haven't heard, one of our dear Siberian friends has gone missing. A cute girl named Stormy and we really want her to make it home for Christmas, so if you live in Colorado, please keep your eyes out for her. For more information, click here. If you don't live in Colorado, just keep your paws crossed that Stormy comes home or someone sees her.

Second: Huffle, our favorite feline friend in all of Australia, gave us this cool award. Here is what the award means:
"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Now we are supposed to give this out to eight more bloggers, but we're sort of behind on blogs and don't know who has received this and who hasn't. So we're just going to say that if you don't have it and you're one of our blog readers, then you are definitely cool enough to win this award from us!

I'm back

My gal Tia asked about me yesterday, so I thought that I would post a bit about what I've been doing lately.

First off, the girl furry beast posted about Mom working from home yesterday.  Well, the furry beasts just played or slept all day, but as you can see here, I worked really hard.  First I did some document editing.
Next I had to guard Mom's work computer since she doesn't have a cable lock at home.
Working from home is obviously work.  Normally I lay around and sleep all day, but I decided if Mom was home working, I might as well work too.

I'm sure the furry beasts have been going on and on about the snow that we have had all week.  They think the cold and snow is just so wonderful.  Here is a video of my first encounter with it.

My opinion is that it's very cold and wet and I don't like it much.  I prefer to observe the neighborhood small humans from this perch.

Well, that's what I've been doing lately.  I hope all the other kitties out there are keeping warm and enjoying life.

It's a Snow Day!

It snowed lots overnight. Mom's boss told everyone to stay home today, but Mom still has to work from home. However, at lunch, we went out for some major play time.

Before we could play, Mom tortured us by making us take pictures while wearing a stupid jingle bell collar thing.

Then we got to play with our new Cuzes. I liked chasing mine all over the yard. (Disclaimer: Mom is not good at videoing and throwing at the same time.)

Steve just liked squeaking his Cuz and pouncing on it in the snow.

It is still snowing now and we hope Dad gets home in enough time to play some more!

Walking With Steve

Welcome to a new edition of "Walking With Steve".  You might remember when I tried this once before and it started pouring down rain and Mom's pants fell off.  (Okay, almost fell off.)  Well, now I'm back for another go at it.  It gets dark pretty early here in Seattle in December, so it's dark when we go for walks.  I decided to show off all the Christmas lights in the neighborhood for this Christmas edition of Walking With Steve.

It was only 25F when we decided to head out.  As you can see in this picture, I just threw on my leash and puplight and I was ready to go.  As you can also see, Mom threw (and I use that term loosely) on her hat, gloves, snow pants, snow coat, iPhone headphones, treat bag, poop bags, camera, head lamp, and a variety of other things and then she was ready to go.  Can you believe all the stuff humans require?
I took three videos because our camera doesn't like when the videos get too long.  This first one shows our house (not very decorated) and the rest of our street.

Next we have another street with several lights.  This was taken after Mom about fell on her rear crossing the street.
Finally we have this section of houses that are all decorated.  Remember them because I'm going to do another segment where we come back to one of them.  I discovered something interesting, but Mom had already put the camera away.

Mom says she's embarrassed at how noisy her walking is and will try to do better next time.  She does say she can't help it because she's walking really fast to keep up with my pace.  Excuses, excuses.

This is the weather we like

All week the TV weather humans have been saying "oh we're going to have a winter storm like we haven't seen for 20 years!" and "snow everywhere!"  Well, late yesterday afternoon, there was still no snow, so Steve and I did some major pouting.  Apparently it worked because after dark it started snowing!  Mom and Dad took us outside to take some pictures.

Then this morning, we woke up to lots of snow!  I was so excited and I think Steve was too because he wanted to go outside all day and normally he never wants to go outside.  Here's a video of Mom letting us out this morning.

Then Steve and I had to do some snow wrestling.  I don't think there is anything better than that!

The TV weather humans say it should stay below freezing here until probably Christmas, with more snow likely on Wednesday!  WOO HOO!!

Sleeping with Mom

I am very abused.  Mom always says, "Oh Stevie boy, you're so soft and fluffy, come cuddle with me."  As a matter of fact, I am very soft and fluffy, but I'm not certain that I care to do any cuddling.  It doesn't matter though.  Look what she does to me.

I mean, sure she usually scratches my tummy and neck, but really, this is too much.
Finally I escaped.
Really, I love my mom and I want to be close to her, but this is much more my style.  Just give her the tail.

Birthday Balls

Aunt Kari and Uncle Joe sent us these balls for our birthday.  Here's what they looked like in October.  Each ball said "Happy Birthday" on them with paw prints.  They were very cute.

Here's what one ball looked like the other day when Mom found it.
It's very obvious that I did not do that.  It's one of the blue balls, so it's must have been Steve since blue is for boys and my balls are pink.  Mom threw the ball in the trash so now Steve only has two. I still have three and I don't think I will let him have any of mine since we can see what he does with them!

Playing with my grandpa

My Missouri grandparents were here for Thanksgiving.  My grandpa and I started a new game.  Whenever he would stomp his foot or clap his hands, I would bark and woo at him.  It was really fun and after much barking, clapping, wooing, and stomping, he would pet me, so I was having a ball.  Try it with your grandpa sometime!

Machine Update

It's been a while since I posted about my Magic Poop Machine - a poop-to-gold converter.  Things have hit a bit of a snag.  I have successfully converted some poop to gold, but the gold just looks like pieces of poop.  Wilbur laughs at me and says that no one will want to exchange treats for gold poop.  I am still hoping to convert the poop into gold coins, not just solid gold poop.  So anyone who wanted a machine for Christmas, stand by, I'm still working.

Steve

This picture is of me looking at my gold poop experiments.  I'm a traveling pooper, so that's why there's poop in a line.
